Department of Mathematics Job Description
The Department of Mathematics at the University of Missouri, Columbia invites applications for a full-time, non-tenure track faculty position at the rank of Assistant Teaching Professor, beginning Fall 2026. This position emphasizes excellence in undergraduate teaching and offers significant opportunities to contribute to curriculum development and student success initiatives. It is a renewable appointment with eligibility for promotion. Responsibilities: The teaching load is four undergraduate courses (12 credit hours) or the equivalent per semester, including both service and advanced-level courses. Responsibilities also include contributions to curriculum development, student mentoring, supervision of undergraduate research, and service to the department and university. Qualifications
A Ph.D. in Mathematics or a closely related discipline, to be completed by August 2026, is required. Candidates will be evaluated based on demonstrated excellence in undergraduate teaching, and teaching experience in Mathematical Finance or emerging applied mathematics areas such as Topological Data Analysis, that would strengthen and complement the existing programs in actuarial science and applied mathematics.
