Job Description
This position serves as the key liaison between clients and packaging prepress production to create a seamless workflow that exceeds customer expectations. Primary responsibilities include: project management, pre-production job planning, premedia production scheduling and creative problem solving. This position seeks to enrich the customer experience with RRD through service, a positive attitude, a sense of urgency, clear communications and the utmost professionalism in all interactions. JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Act as a liaison between clients and packaging prepress production to ensure projects meet scheduling and quality requirements
- Perform order management activity such as communicating job specific information, entering job details intoorder management software and ensure proper priority is given to each job to meet client expectations
- Apply a broad knowledge of packaging printing, converting and prepress to production workflows
- Apply understanding of customer's business needs to establish solid customer relationships and facilitateproblem-solving
- Establish and promote excellent customer relations through effective and proactive communication andcontinuous monitoring of customer satisfaction
- Maintain contact with customers and production to advise them of job progress, scheduling concerns andrequests for additional information or materials when required
- Facilitates the resolution of production-related problems in a timely manner and elevates appropriately when necessary
- Coordinate 3D rendering services
- Retrieve customer provided assets and provide asset management and/or file transfer services
- Order photopolymer platemaking services from production resources
- Generate customer-facing project cost estimates and billing summaries at project completion
- Coordinate occasional client support for RRD hosted technologies (project management, soft-proofing anddigital asset management)
- Use ethical business practices in dealing with customers, employees, vendors, suppliers and the community
- Responsible for customer retention and customer loyalty
Qualifications
- Bachelor degree in discipline related to functional work or role with 3-5 years of relevant work experience ORdemonstrated ability to meet the job requirements through a comparable number of years of applicable work experience.
- Demonstrated knowledge of packaging prepress and print specifications for Flexo, Litho, Gravure, Dry Offset & In Mold Label (IML) print processes
- Experience working with different packaging substrate types for Flexo, Litho, Gravure, Dry Offset & In MoldLabel (IML) print processes
- Strong project management skills, organizational skills and time-management skills
- Experience with software associated with packaging prepress (Acrobat, Illustrator, Photoshop and Esko)
- Experience with eCommmerce / 3D rendering services and requirements
- Excellent interpersonal skills and the proven ability to build and maintain strong and effective customer andinternal relationships
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, along with the ability to listen for understanding
- Ability to anticipate needs on behalf of the customer not to only serve the customer but increase volume andprofitability
- Ability to problem solve, analyze potential solutions and use good sound judgment to make decisions
Additional Information
RRD's current salary range for this role is $65,100 to $101,500 / year. The salary range may be adjusted based on the applicable geographic location of the hired employee, and the range may change in the future. At RRD, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions may vary based upon, but not limited to education, skills, experience, proficiency, performance, shift and location. Depending on the role, in addition to base salary, the total compensation package may also include participation in a bonus, commission or incentive program.
