Kratos is seeking a Senior Accountant/Financial Analyst to join the Corporate team at their San Diego location. This position is an onsite position with the potential for a hybrid work schedule after completing on-site training.

GENERAL JOB SUMMARY:
The Senior Accountant / Financial Analyst works directly with the Senior Supervisor of Financial Reporting and also supports the Manager, Technical Accounting and Reporting and the Corporate Director of Financial Reporting and Accounting. Coordinates receipt of financial reporting from the Business Unit accounting teams. Actively participates in monthly and quarterly closes to ensure they are done accurately, timely and in accordance with U.S. GAAP. Assist in preparing financial forecast and budget information and compiling company-wide data from business units. Assist team in administering corporate consolidation, lease accounting and equity applications. This position requires the ability to obtain security clearance, if needed.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Assist in preparation of consolidated financial statements and supporting schedules using Longview corporate consolidation tool.
Propose, prepare and record consolidation journal entries.
Prepare various month end account reconciliations.
Reconcile intercompany accounts and work with divisional accounting teams to resolve reconciling items.
Assist in preparation of SEC filings such as 10-K 10-Q, 8-K, and Proxy.
Maintain lease accounting system, support in lease accounting in compliance with ASC 842 (lease), prepare quarterly lease analysis, and assist Business Unit with any lease related question.
Work with divisional accounting teams to resolve inconsistencies and resolve problems.
Assist with the preparation of internal and external financial reports.
Assist with the preparation of company-wide forecasts, budgets and related analysis as needed.
Work with corporate and divisional finance personnel in obtaining and compiling data / reports.
Assist in the preparation of Board of Directors financial presentations
Maintenance / development of corporate consolidation tool (Longview) and assist in adding functionality and reporting.
Generate and compile quarterly reports from lease and equity systems as needed.
Prepare accounting analyses requested by the management team
Help with Ad hoc requests and special projects.
Coordinate with internal / external auditor for timely audit support as needed.
Comply with and document reports and processes supporting SOX internal controls.

Required Experience:

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:
Senior level accounting and experience with corporate consolidation process.
Problem solving ability to understand problems, propose solutions and resolve issues.
Analytical skills ability to review data, interpret findings and arrive at conclusions.
Self-starter must be able to perform complicated tasks, think independently and determine the best course of action with little or no assistance.
Ability to manage complex projects / tasks in a multi-entity, international environment.
Ability to analyze information and make logical and informed decisions.
Ability to justify decisions verbally or on paper when reviewed.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite; Intermediate or advances in Microsoft Excel.
Experience in financial software systems administration, corporate consolidation, SEC reporting and lease accounting preferred (Workiva, Longview, and Lease Query experience helpful).
Excellent written and oral communication skills including ability to interact with international and domestic accounting Controllers / team members.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Ability to work independently and prioritize responsibilities.
Ability to anticipate and/or proactively address issues.
Ability to identify process improvements to improve efficiency.
Ability to obtain security clearance, if needed.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Bacheloris degree in Accounting, Finance or related major.
Minimum of 3 to 5 years experience (either public/private mix)

WORK ENVIRONMENT/PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Office cubical environment
Ability to stand and sit for long periods of time
Ability to perform repetitive motion (keyboarding, 10-key, phones)
Ability to lift up to 10 pounds
