The Warehouse Clerk, Target is a dual-role position which not only involves standard warehouse duties such as inventory management and order fulfillment, but also includes customer-facing responsibilities, providing direct assistance to customers.

  • Time to fulfill orders

  • Inventory accuracy

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Order Fulfillment: Accurately pick, pack, and prepare customer orders for shipment or in-store pickup.

  • Customer Service: Assist walk-in customers by providing product information, answering inquiries, and helping them order the products they need.

  • Retail-Style Service: Handle customer transactions, process payments, and provide an overall positive experience for customers visiting the branch.

  • Inventory Management: Maintain accurate inventory counts, assist with cycle counts, and ensure stock levels are properly recorded in the warehouse management system.

  • Receiving and Stocking: Receive incoming shipments, verify product quantities, and stock shelves or designated warehouse areas efficiently.

  • Product Knowledge: Develop and maintain a thorough understanding of the products carried to better serve customers and ensure order accuracy.

  • Documentation: Maintain accurate records of orders, inventory, and customer interactions as required.

  • Warehouse Maintenance: Help maintain a clean, organized, and safe warehouse and customer service area.

  • Safety Compliance: Follow all safety protocols, operating procedures, and company guidelines to ensure a safe working and customer service environment.

  • Cross-Departmental Support: Work closely with other departments as needed to meet branch objectives, including assisting with deliveries or additional warehouse duties.

Required Experience:

  • Previous experience in a warehouse, retail, or customer service role is a plus.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a strong customer service mindset.

  • Ability to lift and move heavy items (up to 50 lbs.) regularly.

  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

  • Basic computer skills for inventory management, order processing, and customer transactions.

  • Willingness to learn product details and assist with various warehouse operations.

Formal Education, Qualifications or Training:

  • High school diploma, GED or equivalent
  • Forklift Certification or willingness to obtain
