Job Title: Intern, Engineering Mechanical Analysis Reporting To: Mechanical Analysis Manager Work Schedule: Onsite - Buffalo, NY The Mechanical Analysis team within our Space & Defense Group is seeking a spring block intern. The intern will have an onsite work schedule in Elma, NY. To be considered for this role, here's what you'll need to bring with you: Enrolled in a Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, and/or other relevant Engineering Bachelor's or Master's Degree program, at an accredited university. GPA of at least 3.0; exact GPA requirement will be specified by department. This position requires access to U.S. export-controlled information. Ability to relocate for the duration of the internship. Students within the Moog U.S. Internship Program are expected to have a professional disposition, effective communication skills, a strong desire to learn, a positive attitude, and the ability to work in a team environment. In this role you will: Contribute to the preparation and execution of key Mechanical Analysis engineering tasks at Moog. Provide technical support to SDG groups across the US, as needed. Work experience may include finite element analysis (FEA), finite difference analysis, stress analysis, deflection analysis, thermal analysis, fatigue analysis, fracture analyses, magnetics analysis, computational fluid dynamics (CFD), transient flow analysis, general material characteristics, 3-D modeling, data reporting, and/or design and development modificationsbased on the student's educational discipline. Validate conceptual problem solutions by performing trade studies and analyses. Advise mechanical tests and correlate analytical models to test results. Operate as a multidisciplinary member of a team of creative, independent individuals. Represent Moog in a manner consistent with its technical and professional reputation. Actual salaries will vary depending on factors including but not limited to location, experience, and performance.
