  • Department Overview:

Join the Residential, Retail and Supply Chain Services (RRSS) team at UC San Diego, a dynamic and innovative campus department dedicated to delivering exceptional service to the university community. As a valued RRSS team member, you will be contributing to a broad and complex organization consisting of five key units: Housing, Dining and Hospitality (HDH), Integrated Procure-to-Pay Solutions (IPPS), the UC San Diego Bookstore, Triton Print & Digital Media, and the Early Childhood Education Center (ECEC). With a focus on innovation and customer satisfaction, RRSS aims to inclusively meet the diverse needs of the UC San Diego community while fostering a sense of belonging for our students and staff.   • Position Description:

Under the supervision, the position serves as the front desk customer service representative and is responsible for day-to-day operational procedures. Maintains occupancy records and changes, enforces student eligibility, and tracks resident accounts taking appropriate action as necessary. Excellent communication, customer service and telephone skills required for heavy contact with staff and vendors. Assists and performs other administrative staff duties during staff absences, shortages, breaks or when requested by supervisor. Will have general receptionist duties

  • May be required to work occasional overtime including some weekends.

  • May be required to work alternate work hours and shifts, including weekends.

QUALIFICATIONS
  • Effective interpersonal and verbal communication skill with the ability to clearly, courteously, and diplomatically communicate information to a diverse group of people (including students, parents, staff, and the community) in person, on the telephone, and via e-mail in a professional manner.

  • Demonstrated ability to work under pressure, with frequent interruptions while performing multiple tasks

  • Demonstrated ability to exercise discretion, tact and diplomacy in handling sensitive matters and maintaining strict confidentiality.

  • Skill in maintaining filing systems for rapid/easy retrieval by self or others.

  • Ability to initiate and track various issues and follow-up to ensure timely completion of projects.

  • Experience with business productivity applications including, but not limited to, Word, Power Point, Outlook, Publisher and Excel and ability to learn new software programs.

  • Demonstrated knowledge of proofreading, grammar, punctuation, spelling and standard business formats.

  • Experience as an administrative assistant in a residential life/leasing office setting.

  • Demonstrated ability to work both independently and in cooperation with others to accomplish assigned tasks.

  • Ability to operate standard office equipment (e.g, copier, printer, fax machine).

  • Demonstrated ability to answer, screen, and direct calls/visitors and take complete, accurate messages.

Pay Transparency Act

Annual Full Pay Range: $33,900 - $75,335 (will be prorated if the appointment percentage is less than 100%)

Hourly Equivalent: $16.24 - $36.08

Factors in determining the appropriate compensation for a role include experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. The Hiring Pay Scale referenced in the job posting is the budgeted salary or hourly range that the University reasonably expects to pay for this position. The Annual Full Pay Range may be broader than what the University anticipates to pay for this position, based on internal equity, budget, and collective bargaining agreements (when applicable).
