Introduction to the Job

As a Mechanical Engineer First Line Support, you'll play a key role in keeping ASML's advanced lithography systems running smoothly. These machines are essential to producing faster, smaller, and more energy-efficient microchips. Your work directly supports ASML's mission to push the boundaries of technology and enable the world's leading chipmakers to innovate.

You'll be part of the Production Engineering team in Wilton, CT, helping resolve mechanical issues quickly and efficiently to keep production moving. Your contributions will help ensure the quality and reliability of the systems that power the digital world.

Role and Responsibilities

As a Mechanical Engineer First Line Support, you'll spend most of your time in the cleanroom, working hands-on with high-tech equipment and collaborating with cross-functional teams. You'll be responsible for:

  • Leading troubleshooting efforts for mechanical assembly issues during production.

  • Resolving bonding and contamination problems using safe cleaning methods.

  • Supporting diagnostics and qualification processes for production teams.

  • Evaluating failed parts and proposing corrective actions.

  • Assisting in the development of manufacturing procedures and technical documentation.

  • Participating in design reviews and root cause analysis.

  • Supporting cycle time and labor efficiency improvements.

  • Reading and interpreting mechanical, electrical, and optical drawings.

Education and Experience

To succeed as a Mechanical Engineer First Line Support, you'll need:

  • A bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, or mechatronics with 2+ years of experience in a technical production environment.

  • Or a master's degree in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, or mechatronics with prior internship experience in a manufacturing environment

  • Familiarity with mechanical diagrams, servo systems, and electro-mechanical assemblies.

  • Experience with integrated hardware/software testers and production troubleshooting.

  • Knowledge of tools such as Python, MATLAB, Unix/Linux, NX, Teamcenter, and SAP is a plus.
