Current Need:

The Senior Director of Technical Product Performance & Portfolio Optimization (TPPPO) drives strategic initiatives to improve product performance and investment outcomes within specific areas/segments of McKesson. This role partners closely with the VP of TPPPO and cross-functional leaders to lead the evaluation of individual products and product portfolios, prioritize investments, and ensure alignment with enterprise goals. The position works in close partnership with the individual business units that own the products to align priorities, evaluate tradeoffs, and recommend portfolio evolution strategies.

Key Responsibilities:

Segment Portfolio Strategy & Execution

  • Supports VP in developing and executing cross-portfolio optimization strategies, with a focus on specific segments.

  • Manages the multiyear cross-portfolio vision and investment roadmap for specific segments.

  • Collaborates with their assigned segment leaders to identify synergies, dependencies, and opportunities across product lines.

  • Manages high level KPIs-such as revenue growth, adoption, retention, and ROI-codeveloped with business unit stakeholders of the segment/areas to whom they are assigned.

  • Provides recommendations for segment-specific portfolio evolution based on market trends, competitive intelligence, and business priorities.

  • Communicates portfolio strategy effectively to both senior leadership and business unit executives of the segment/areas to whom they are assigned.

Digital Portfolio Management & Optimization

  • Manages portfolio review processes for a specific segment/area to evaluate performance, risk, and opportunity-making data driven recommendations jointly with product owners.

  • Supports the VP in the management of a governance framework (investment prioritization, stage gate criteria, etc.) to support transparent, aligned decision making within and across product portfolios.

  • Ensures the monitoringof segment/area-specific portfolio health and produces regular performance reports for business specific leadership teams.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Builds strong, trust-based relationships with the leaders of assigned business units / segments that owns products in the portfolio.

  • Codevelops optimization strategies that align portfolio level goals with individual product owner priorities.

  • Facilitates alignment sessions between business unit stakeholders, engineering, and design teams to ensure smooth execution.

  • Serves as the primary strategic liaison between corporate portfolio management and individual product teams, ensuring that feedback loops remain active and productive.

Team Management

  • Manages a team of analysts and optimization specialists who work closely with business unit product teams.

  • Fosters a culture of collaboration, transparency, and shared accountability between portfolio management and product ownership teams.

  • Recruits and develops talent capable of bridging corporate strategy with business specific product needs.

  • Provides coaching to product teams on optimization and portfolio performance best practices.

Technical & Analytical Expertise

  • Applies advanced analytics, ROI modeling, and experimentation to generate actionable portfolio recommendations for business unit review.

  • Integrates qualitative business feedback with quantitative portfolio analysis to produce wellrounded strategic proposals.

  • Identify reliable and consistent source data, and the definition of applicable metrics, in order to achieve accurate and fair product evaluations and make actionable product recommendations.

Minimum Requirement:

  • Degree or equivalent experience. Typically requires 13+ years of professional experience and 6+ years of diversified leadership, planning, communication, organization, and people motivation skills (or equivalent experience).

Critical Skills:

  • 13+ years in progressively advancing analysis roles.

  • 5+ years of management consulting, strategy, and/or product evaluation, portfolio optimization, or related experience.

  • 6+ years of direct leadership experience.

  • Demonstrated experience building business cases in support of product investment.

  • Stronginterpersonal and communication skillsto influence across executive levels.

  • Experience inbudget management,vendor oversight, andrisk/compliance governance.

  • Proven ability to define and trackKPIs and ROIfor digital initiatives

  • Health industry experience a plus.

Specialized Knowledge/Skills:

  • Familiarity withportfolio optimization tools and digital product lifecycle management.

  • Experience withdata modeling and digital analytics platforms.

Working Conditions:

  • Traditional Hybrid office environment.

  • Commutable distance to Irving, TX is preferred but not required.

  • Travel up to 20%.

This is determined by several factors, including performance, experience and skills, equity, regular job market evaluations, and geographical markets. The pay range shown below is aligned with McKesson's pay philosophy, and pay will always be compliant with any applicable regulations. Our Base Pay Range for this position

$177,200 - $295,400
