Director of Estimating - Heavy Civil/Highway (DFW)
Lead and elevate our client's Estimating team, driving accuracy, strategy, and growth on large-scale projects ($50M+). The Director of Estimating oversees all estimating operations from conceptual pricing through final bid, ensuring best practices, risk assessment, subcontractor selection, and seamless project handoffs. This role partners with executives, mentors staff, and shapes winning proposals that reflect both precision and competitiveness.
What You'll Do

• Direct estimating processes, reviews, and final bid preparation.
• Guide subcontractor evaluation, budgets, WIP reviews, and change order pricing.
• Ensure risk management, quality control, and executive alignment on estimates.
• A strong desire to mentor and develop estimators; drive recruitment, training, and succession planning.
• Represent the company with clients, subcontractors, and in executive meetings.

What You Bring

• MUST HAVE 10+ years of heavy highway or private construction experience, with 5+ years in senior/lead estimating. TxDOT preferred. Will consider other DOTs.
• Proven track record estimating $50M+ projects.
• Strong leadership, business and community relationships, communication, and client-facing presentation skills.
• Expertise with HCSS; AutoCAD and field ops background a plus.
• Degree in Engineering or related field preferred. Civil a plus.
