The Director of Product Management at Certara will lead the vision, strategy, and execution of our biosimulation software portfolio, helping accelerate the discovery and development of new medicines worldwide. This senior leader will drive product strategy, market positioning, and innovation while mentoring a team of product managers and owners.

You'll collaborate with cross-functional partners in marketing, sales, development, and support to ensure product success, and you'll bring expertise in agile software practices and tools such as Jira and Confluence to strengthen our Product Operations. With at least 10 years of proven success in product management, a strong business and technical background, and the ability to influence at all levels, you'll shape the future of Certara's products and their impact on global healthcare.


Responsibilities

Primary Duties:

  • Develop product strategy and roadmap for assigned Certara software products
  • Deliver Roadmap updates for assigned products to the business on an as needed basis
  • Be an expert with respect to the competition and positioning the product appropriately
  • Assist in setting pricing to meet revenue and profitability goals
  • Challenge others to see the product beyond just the digital experience and create more ways to differentiate and make an impact.
  • Assist in developing the core positioning and messaging for the product
  • Make decisions and champion enhancements or new products for the product line supporting the overall business strategy.
  • Drive agile best practices throughout the organization by implementing process change, mentoring, external training, etc.
  • Manage staff responsible for Product Operations business systems, including Jira/Confluence and other systems as required
  • Develop and maintain Product Operations best practices, through use of standard templates for content creation in various business systems
  • Manage special projects, as prioritized and required by the business
  • Influence business and industry practices by driving innovative ideas, solutions and products through leadership and decisive action.
  • Work with external third parties to assess partnerships and licensing opportunities
  • Manage/mentor one or more product managers and/or product owners.
  • Work with marketing, sales, development, and support teams to ensure success.
  • Oversee the implementation of enterprise software solutions to improve business efficiency
  • Spearhead software operations initiatives across software business units to harmonize processes

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 10 years' experience as a Product Manager or equivalent position
  • Demonstrated success defining and launching products
  • Strong business acumen
  • Bachelor's degree (MBA preferred)
  • Strong technical background in Agile software development
  • Excellent teamwork skills
  • Proven ability to influence cross-functional teams without formal authority
  • Experience working with senior executives and ability to develop relationships at all levels
  • Ability to multi-task while maintaining attention to detail and deadlines
  • Thrives in a high-paced, changing work environment
  • Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • JIRA implementation and adoption
