The Project Manager is responsible for directing the day-to-day operations of all labor, supervision, equipment, tools transportation, materials vegetation, and expertise to conduct comprehensive grounds maintenance, mowing, and landscaping at all Dam Neck, Va. Beach, VA Grounds Maintenance site(s) In addition, implementing programmatic and administrative policies and procedures in order to attain program goals and objectives. Responsible for making recommendations to the Operations Manager (OM) for grounds, in accordance with Didlake's overall goals and objectives; serves as a primary liaison between Didlake Corporate office and its customers, clients, and staff.



  • Supervise work designated by the Operations Manager (OM) and/or the Director of Operations (DOO)
  • Review and implement safety procedures to meet state and company standards; monitor activities where accidents may occur, halting any operation or activity that constitutes an imminent hazard to personnel or equipment, and assist in the activities of the safety committee by providing technical and administrative support.
  • Foster an atmosphere that promotes Human Rights for all clients and ensures training, incident reporting, appropriate counseling documentation, and awareness of the responsibilities of all personnel regarding Human Rights matters.


Liaison with Corporate Management and State Government Staff



  • Being on call 24 hours a day to assist the Director of Operations with the contractual specifications.
  • Liaison with the Government PAR, Facility Managers, and the Government Safety Representatives to ensure that all services are within the specifications outlined in the contract, to include but not limited to:

    • Mulching, seeding and fertilization operations, tree removal and pruning
    • Pesticide/Herbicide operations, ground restoration, and repair, planting operations
    • Ornamental tree, shrub, and hedge trimming/pruning
    • Basic landscape design and installation.
    • Turf Grass Program
    • Grass mowing, edging, and cultivation operations




Administrative



  • Ensure all assigned personnel maintain their individual training requirements.
  • Oversees the Time Study process to align wage determination with employee productivity.
  • To provide job analysis of expenditures for labor, equipment, and materials as well as maintain an annual budget. To include, reviewing status reports, contract modifications, and delivery orders and modifying schedules and plans as required.
  • To provide support to the Human Resource Department (HRD) to ensure proper personnel file documentation is obtained for all ground employees. Be the liaison between personnel and HRD regarding issues of payroll, insurance, and company policies and procedures.
  • Submit the annual grounds schedule and maintain a complete set of operation files to include but not limited to:

    • Daily work reports, Daily inspection reports, Daily timesheets
    • First report of injury, Damage reports, performance appraisals


  • Maintains the system of detailed property records to cover all assets, ensuring that records reflect updated information such as type, number, location, and cost (or value) of inventoried property.
  • Assist in developing and implementing quality control procedures. Monitor the work produced under this contract, and initiate corrective actions to ensure conformance with established standards and procedures.
  • To ensure supervised training of all personnel in the safe operation of all grounds equipment, to include but not limited to:

    • Farm tractors, Riding mowers, Spin trimmers, Push and pole edger
    • Backpack blowers, Hedge trimmers, Push mowers, Batwing, and box cutting decks.


  • Provide leadership to staff by fostering teamwork while balancing team and individual responsibilities; giving feedback to nurture a positive team spirit and quality performance, and model dependability, hard work, strong business ethics, and professional personal appearance.
  • Assists with contract review and wage determination rate reviews.
  • Manages department purchasing and inventory.
  • Responsible for fostering a positive team spirit and producing quality work.
  • Responsible for appropriate conduct and/or demeanor as dictated by Didlake policy and procedure.
  • Completes required paperwork and/or documentation.
  • Completes and maintains all required Didlake training.
  • Other duties as assigned and/or specified in the Statement of Work.
