Overview

The responsibilities of this position require a broad background in submarine construction, maintenance, overhaul, repair and ships operations, as well as knowledge of industrial repair techniques.

Candidate must possess the skills to work effectively with management and working levels of other divisions and departments, and with fleet activities.

The Planner position requires detailed knowledge of higher authority maintenance requirements and quality assurance procedures, comprehensive technical knowledge of Electrical/Electronic Procedures that are utilized in the repair of Los Angeles and Virginia Class platforms, and familiarity with NAVSEA approved manufacturing/repair procedures and trade applicable work practices.

The Electrical Group Detail Planner/Estimator shall be qualified to the requirements of the Joint Fleet Maintenance Manual (JFMM).

*This is a 2nd shift position*



Qualifications

Required

    High School Diploma or equivalent
  • 4+ years related planner experience in submarine electrical systems maintenance,construction, overhaul and/or repair
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret Clearance

Preferred

  • Previous ATIS experience
  • Previous WISP experience
  • Previous Technical Writing Experience
  • Previous operational experience in the Submarine Service


Skills

  • Candidate should possess four plus years of Shipyard experience or similar in fields related to the maintenance and repair of electrical/electronic Submarine systems.
  • Strong verbal and written communications, including word processing skills, are required to both produce work packages and standards as well as communicate effectively with all levels of management.
