Overview
LMI is seeking a highly qualified Senior Software Test Engineer to support the Army Training Information System (ATIS) program. This position is on a cross-functional Agile team within a Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) Agile Release Train (ART), ensuring the quality and reliability of our software products through comprehensive testing strategies, automation, and collaboration with other cross-functional Agile teams. Responsibilities
Lead the planning, design, and implementation of scalable and maintainable automated test frameworks across multiple platforms (web, mobile, API, backend).
- Mentor and manage a team of automation engineers, providing technical guidance, code reviews, and performance feedback.
- Collaborate with development, QA, DevOps, and product teams to define test strategies, automation goals, and release criteria.
- Drive the integration of automated tests into CI/CD pipelines to support continuous testing and rapid delivery.
- Ensure comprehensive test coverage through effective test case design and risk-based prioritization.
- Monitor, analyze, and report on test execution results and quality metrics to stakeholders.
- Advocate for testability, automation-first approaches, and quality engineering throughout the software development lifecycle.
- Stay up-to-date on emerging test automation tools and methodologies, and lead initiatives to adopt new technologies or improve existing processes.
- Identify bottlenecks in test execution or quality processes and implement improvements proactively.
- Manage test environments, data, and infrastructure needed for effective automated testing.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications
- Active Secret security clearance.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- 8+ years of experience in testing and evaluation of large DoD systems, with a focus on system modifications and integration.
- 5+ years of experience in direct support to the Department of Defense (DoD) and/or US Government Agencies.
- Possess DoD 8140 foundational qualification through education, training, or certification.
- Proficiency in developing test strategies, plans, and documentation for complex systems.
- Experience performing manual testing, black box, white box and gray box and exploratory testing.
- Strong experience with test automation tools (e.g., Selenium, Python, Selenium Grid).
- Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git) and CI/CD tools (e.g., Jira, GitLab CI, ALM).
- Experience developing working with and maintaining test automation frameworks built in Python and Selenium. Excellent verbal and written communication skills for technical and nontechnical audiences.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, delivering results within tight deadlines.
- Advanced knowledge of testing methodologies, requirements analysis, and systems integration.
- Working knowledge of Agile/Scrum methodologies and Software Development Lifecycle.
Preferred Qualifications
- Familiarity with DoD testing frameworks and standards.
- Expertise in performance and functional testing tools (Jira and equivalent platforms)
- Expertise in testing tools, methodologies, and integration of complex systems.
- Strong ability to analyze test results, identify issues, and propose actionable solutions.
- Exceptional presentation and documentation skills for effective stakeholder engagement.
- Meticulous approach to testing, ensuring high quality deliverables that meet organizational standards.
- Professional certifications (Certified Software Testing Engineer (CSTE), SAFe Agilist, CompTIA Security+).
Travel Requirements:
- Occasional travel required (e.g., quarterly for PI Planning, technical syncs, and major delivery milestones).
Target salary range: $99,000 - 171,000. Final compensation will be determined by a variety of factors including but not limited to your skills, experience, education, and/or certifications.
