What this job involves: This full-time management position at our Tampa, FL site involves overseeing all shipping and receiving operations, managing inventory processes, and leading a team to ensure efficient package handling, storage, and distribution. Reporting to JLL's Facilities Manager, you'll manage critical supply chain operations for our client while supervising staff and maintaining compliance with industry standards. This role requires strategic thinking to optimize workflows, manage vendor relationships, and ensure seamless operations. The position demands leadership skills to manage personnel, budgets, and coordinate with multiple departments during standard business hours.

What your day-to-day will look like:

  • Manage and oversee all shipping and receiving operations for both domestic and international shipments
  • Supervise shipping and receiving staff, including scheduling, training, and performance management
  • Develop and implement standard operating procedures for package handling and inventory management
  • Coordinate with vendors, carriers, and internal departments to optimize logistics operations
  • Review and approve shipping documentation, ensuring accuracy and compliance with regulations
  • Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with procurement teams for supply ordering
  • Manage shipping and receiving budgets, including cost analysis and vendor negotiations
  • Investigate and resolve complex shipping, storage, or receiving discrepancies
  • Ensure compliance with safety protocols and regulatory requirements for pharmaceutical shipping
  • Lead team meetings and safety initiatives while maintaining high-performance standards
  • Coordinate special projects including facility moves, equipment installations, and event logistics
  • Develop metrics and reporting systems to track operational efficiency and performance
  • Manage relationships with external carriers and service providers
  • Ensure proper documentation and chain of custody for sensitive materials
  • Oversee facility security protocols for shipping and receiving areas
  • Other management duties as assigned

Required Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Must possess a valid driver's license
  • Minimum 5 years of shipping and receiving experience with at least 2 years in supervisory role
  • Strong leadership and team management skills with ability to motivate and develop staff
  • Advanced computer skills including Microsoft Office, inventory management systems, and shipping software
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with ability to interface with senior management
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities for complex logistics challenges
  • Knowledge of shipping regulations, including hazardous materials and international shipping requirements
  • Budget management experience and vendor negotiation skills
  • Ability to work in fast-paced environment while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail
  • Physical ability to lift 50 lbs. and perform facility inspections as needed
  • Strong customer service orientation with ability to manage internal and external stakeholders

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or related field
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in BioPharma or Pharmaceutical industry
  • Experience with pharmaceutical shipping regulations (GDP, GMP compliance)
  • Certification in supply chain or logistics management (APICS, CSCMP, etc.)
  • Experience with warehouse management systems (WMS) and enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems
  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies
