Description
Overview/Function: As a trusted business partner, this role owns the standardization of reporting via ERP solutions, curating a variety of data sources within a PowerBI environment to develop, implement, and maintain robust reports, dashboards, and visuals to help guide business decisions. Proven BI/data report developer experience is needed in this role along with a high degree of critical thinking, organizational skills, problem-solving skills, and communication skills. Major Responsibilities:
- In partnership with business stakeholders, develop standardized end-user reports using complex databases and data sources including Bronze Data and uncurated tables.
- Collaborate with variety of internal teams (I.T., Production, Operations, Sales, Marketing, Finance, Human Resources, etc.) to develop third-party and internal data gathering and reporting solutions. Help identify data sources and appropriate data elements to develop insightful and understandable reports which link data to business objectives.
- Develop continuous report improvements which drive user engagement and business results.
- Respond to requests for standard or ad-hoc queries pulling data including, but not limited to, production, financial, sales, competitive market, supply chain, human resources, etc.
- Keen understanding of business challenges to provide the most appropriate data reporting.
- As a technical expert, provide effective end-user report training.
- Support strategic initiatives by enabling advanced analytics and promoting a data-driven culture.
- Design and build models to support business operations and analytics.
- Adhere to Master Data and LLM/AI standards, hierarchies, and governance to ensure consistency and data integrity across systems. Ensure compliance with data security, privacy, and governance standards.
- Ensure dashboards and reports align with business strategy while also delivering accurate, timely insights.
- Oversee reporting automation and data quality initiatives, driving efficiency and reducing manual processes.
- Proactively seek continuous improvement opportunities.
- Other related duties and special projects as required.
This position requires in-office availability at our Des Moines, IA, branch. This position is also not eligible for any Visa sponsorship.
Qualifications
Experience & Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree with at least 2-4 years of related experience. (Additional related experience may substitute for education.)
- Previous experience with data and/or market research is ideal.
- Strong technical acumen is needed, with prior experience and/or strong familiarity including but not limited to data warehousing, PowerBI, Azure or other similar knowledge, Tableau, and LLM/AI.
- Demonstrated creative strength in UI/UX-able to design intuitive, visually cohesive Power BI dashboards that balance clarity, accessibility, and performance.
- Strong math skills and Statistical knowledge understanding is required.
- High degree of critical thinking, strong organization and problem-solving skills is critical.
- Detail-oriented with a high degree of accuracy.
- Flexible with the ability to adapt to varying situations, and to adjust priorities.
- Excellent verbal, written and customer service skills with the ability to effectively communicate with others who are less technically savvy.
- Team-oriented with the ability to professionally interact with a wide variety of departments.
- Highly motivated self-starter, with the ability to work with minimal oversight.
- Ability to read, write, and sit for extended periods of time.
- Good computer skills (MS Office) are also needed.
Additional:
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. This is largely a sedentary role; however, some light filing is required. This requires the ability to lift files, open filing cabinets, and bend as needed. The ability to climb stairs is also needed.
- Although office-based, the role may involve some time in the warehouse or production environments (for related projects) with an environment which includes wetness, heights, dust, moving equipment, vibrations, vapors, and loud noise. There are also high noise levels consistent with a fast-moving production environment. Required personal protective equipment (PPE) will be provided.
- Work hours will mostly be Monday-Friday daytime; however some evening and weekend work may be required depending upon project duties and job demands.
