For more information, visit the link below: Who we are and what we do: The Department of Disability and Aging supports people to live the lives they envision for themselves by ensuring people can exercise rights, engage with the community and experience optimal health. At DDA, we are responsible for administration and oversight of services and supports for more than 1.5 million older adults and Tennesseans with disabilities. Job Overview: The Program Director will coordinate services and supports for children in DCS (Department of Children's Services) custody within the East Tennessee Strong Homes program, including assessment of potential referrals to the program, working with DCS and other involved state agencies in coordinating care and support, working with school systems to coordinate educational services, collaborating with DDA professionals and staff for development and implementation of support plans as appropriate to the childs needs, progress reporting, and other duties as necessary to assure their needs are met. Additionally, the position will provide support to the East Tennessee Community Homes (ETH) ICF/IID program, and will connect to the ETH Continuity of Operations Team for emergency preparedness and disaster response and mitigation. The position will involve direct supervision of both supervisory and non-supervisory staff. The position will require travel as needed to coordinate and support the children served in the East Strong Homes program or to facilitate transitions into the program or out of the program. Travel may require overnight stays on an occasional basis. Key Responsibilities:
Minimum Qualifications: A preferred candidate will have a Bachelors Degree in human services or a related field, in addition to experience working with persons with intellectual, developmental and/or physical disabilities. If the candidate does not have a degree, at least four years of experience with some supervisory experience is preferred. Experience with children with physical and/or intellectual disabilities is preferred. Experience in working in a service coordination or case management role within the State service system is preferred. Experience may be substituted for education on a year by year basis.
