Position Summary: The Nurse Manager is a key leader responsible for the clinical and operational management of multiple outpatient hematology clinics specializing in the care of patients with lymphoma, leukemia, multiple myeloma, and other blood disorders. This role ensures the delivery of high-quality, patient-centered, and evidence-based nursing care while optimizing workflows, promoting staff development, and supporting a culture of safety and collaboration. Key Responsibilities: Leadership & Operations
- Provide day-to-day management and oversight of outpatient hematology clinics.
- Lead multidisciplinary teams in delivering coordinated, patient-focused care.
- Develop and implement clinic policies, procedures, and standards of care.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory and accreditation standards (e.g., Joint Commission, CMS).
- Monitor and improve operational efficiency, patient flow, and scheduling practices.
- Manage clinic budgets, supply utilization, and staffing resources effectively.
Clinical Oversight
- Ensure nursing care aligns with current best practices and institutional protocols.
- Oversee clinical competency, education, and professional development of nursing staff.
- Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, pharmacists, and other team members to support complex care planning and disease management.
- Support infusion services and coordination of treatments, lab monitoring, and follow-up care.
- Promote patient safety and participate in root cause analysis and quality improvement initiatives.
Staff Management & Development
- Recruit, hire, onboard, and retain qualified clinical staff.
- Conduct performance evaluations and provide regular feedback and coaching.
- Address staffing needs and manage schedules to ensure adequate coverage across all clinics.
- Foster a positive, inclusive, and accountable work environment that encourages professional growth and team engagement.
Quality & Patient Experience
- Monitor clinical outcomes, patient satisfaction, and quality metrics.
- Lead initiatives to improve the patient experience and reduce barriers to care.
- Implement quality improvement projects targeting outcomes for hematologic malignancies.
- Act as a liaison between patients, families, and care teams to resolve concerns.
Qualifications
Your qualifications should include:
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (or BSN not required if holds MSN)
- Three (3) years of experience in an area of expertise relevant to the department with demonstrated progressive leadership growth.
- California RN license
- American Heart Association-Basic Life Support (BLS)
- National Nursing Certification (or must be acquired within 12 months of hire or transfer)
