Description
Position Overview System High is looking for a motivated and passionate Senior Human Capital (HC) Generalist to join our growing team! The Senior Human Capital Generalist assists inthe day-to-day operations ofthe HC department and provides a wide variety of both complex and routine administrative services that include but are not limited to employee relations, employee support, Human Resource Information Systems (HRIS), performance management, compliance, benefits, and compensation. This role partners managers, employees, and leadership to manage and resolve complex employee relations issues, conduct investigations, ensure compliance with company policies and employment laws, and fosters a positive and productive work environment Key Responsibilities
- Assist employees with all HC related matters; provide guidance to employees and management.
- Serve as a trusted advisor to managers and employees on employee relations issues, including performance management, disciplinary actions, conflict resolution, and workplace concerns.
- Conduct thorough, impartial investigations into complaints related to policy violations, harassment, discrimination, retaliation, and other workplace concerns.
- Travel to company locations and customer sites regularly to support employee townhalls, site visits, morale events, investigations, and other activities.
- Provide recommendations and develop action plans to resolve employee relations matters while balancing organizational needs, employee engagement, and legal compliance.
- Partner with Human Capital, legal, leadership, and operations to mitigate risk and ensure consistent application of company policies and practices.
- Support performance management processes, including coaching managers on feedback delivery, documentation, and corrective action steps.
- Assist in developing, reviewing, and updating HR policies, procedures, and employee handbooks to align with best practices and legal requirements.
- Create and deliver training to managers and employees on workplace policies, conflict resolution, and respectful workplace practices.
- Analyze employee relations trends, metrics, and data to identify areas of improvement and proactively address workplace issues.
- Maintain accurate, confidential records related to employee relations cases and investigations.
- Support benefits administration, including reconciliation of benefit statements, oversight of employee deductions, and coordination with third-party vendors.
- Maintain up to date knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations
- Provide support to the Human Capital team on other assignments as needed

Preferred Skills (Knowledge, Skills, Abilities)
- Experience in a complex multi-state employer environment
- Employee relations and workplace investigation experience
- Experience in a government contracting environment
- HR certification (e.g., PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP) preferred
- Knowledge of HRIS systems (including Paycom)
Years of Experience/Education Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in human resources, Business Administration, Psychology, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- 3-5 years of HR experience, with a focus on employee relations, investigations, or HR generalist responsibilities.

- Ability to obtain a Top-Secret/SCI government security clearance is desired.
Certification Requirements
- SHRM or PHR certification desired
Working Conditions and Travel
- This role requires the ability to work on site in Virginia approximately 50% of the time
- This role requires significant travel locally within the DC Metro area up to 50% of the time
- This role requires occasional travel within the US up to 15% of the time
