Position Overview

The Medical Device Operator is responsible for assembling, inspecting, and testing high-quality medical device products in a cleanroom environment. This role involves hands-on production tasks, including soldering, microscope work, and packaging, while ensuring strict adherence to FDA and GMP standards. The position offers cross-training opportunities within the department to support operational flexibility and skill development.

Job Responsibilities

  • Assemble medical device components according to standard operating procedures (SOPs)
  • Inspect and test components and assemblies to ensure quality standards are met
  • Perform microscope work periodically during inspection and assembly processes
  • Operate electrical tools such as torque drivers and screwdrivers
  • Package and box finished products for shipment
  • Follow all cleanroom gowning and contamination control procedures (e.g., hair nets, beard nets, shoe covers, gowns, and safety glasses)
  • Maintain compliance with FDA, GMP, and company manufacturing standards
  • Cross-train on various production tasks to support team operations


Job Requirements

  • 1-3 years of experience in a cleanroom environment within the medical device industry
  • Hands-on experience in medical device assembly and production
  • Previous soldering and microscope experience required
  • Familiarity with FDA regulations, GMP, and SOP compliance preferred
  • Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality standards


Education

  • High School Diploma or GED required


Work Experience

  • 1-3 years of related experience in medical device manufacturing or assembly


Additional Job Details

  • Work location: 100% onsite in Saint Paul, MN (New Brighton facility)
  • Schedule: Monday through Thursday, 6:00 AM - 4:30 PM (10-hour shifts)
  • Overtime as needed
  • Contract duration: 6 months with potential for extension based on performance
  • Start date: As soon as pre-employment screenings are cleared
  • Two positions available
  • Parking: Use visitor or non-reserved spaces
  • Interview process: One onsite interview with the hiring manager (bring a copy of your resume; dress business casual or professionally)
  • Candidates must be able to reliably commute to the worksite or plan to relocate before starting
