Candidates should demonstrate strong potential for scholarly impact, external funding, and interdisciplinary collaboration. The successful candidate will also teach transportation courses at both undergraduate and graduate levels, develop new courses and advise graduate students.

Missouri S&T has a strong history of excellence in transportation research, education, and technology transfer, with broad collaborations with the U.S. DOT, state DOTs, and the FHWA, including housing University Transportation Centers at the Tier-1, regional, and national levels. The successful candidate will also have the opportunity to be involved in interdisciplinary research within the department and across campus, including collaborative opportunities with campus research centers such as the Center for Research in Energy and Environment(https://cree.mst.edu/), the Center for Infrastructure Engineering Studies (http://cies.mst.edu/), the Center for Intelligent Infrastructure (http://cii.mst.edu), the Missouri Center for Transportation Innovation (https://mcti.missouri.edu/), the Intelligent Systems Center (http://isc.mst.edu/), and Kummer Institute Center for Artificial Intelligence and Autonomous Systems (https://caias.mst.edu). The successful candidate may also be able to leverage resources made available through one or more of these centers and secure seed funds through annual calls for proposal by the Office of the Vice Chancellor for Research and Innovation.
