Security Supervisor- Full Time, Days

Status: Full Time

Shift: First

Job Summary:

Receiving general direction from the security manager/director, assists with the day-to-day site/shift
operation. Supervises operational personnel, assures appropriate security response, proper follow-upoccurs on all incidents and that all documentation is accurate and complete. Participates in the formulationand implementation of departmental strategic planning, represents the department and/or shift oninterdepartmental and intradepartmental committees, participates in the annual preparation of thedepartment budget, and ensures that hospital employees, visitors and patients heed hospital policies andpractices relating to security issues. May be called upon at times to: Answers all calls for service andanswers questions concerning these calls or responds accordingly. Investigates all incidents involvingcriminal matters, complete an incident report and report such matters as appropriate to the properauthority. Required to subdue and/or de-escalate high stress, tense situations involving combativeperson(s) for an unknown period of time. Issue parking violations assist with traffic control as needed.Enforce or assist in the enforcement of hospital policies and procedures, as directed by administration, in amanner that will protect the legal rights of the hospital and the person involved. Perform other duties as thecircumstances dictate or as requested by the Security Management. Shall successfully pass Use of Forcetraining. (Including Exposure to OC Spray, Pressure Points and Control Tactics, Conducted ElectricalWeapons (Taser) and Expandable baton training on a Bi-Annual Basis)

Requirements:

  • High School diploma or equivalent required.

  • Certified Healthcare Security officer (CHSO) with International Association of Healthcare Security and Safety certificationrequired within one year of hire.

  • Advanced Healthcare Security Officer (AHSO) with International Association of Healthcare Securityand Safety certification required within one year of hire.

  • Ability to successfully achieve Taser X-26 certification, baton and handcuff
    training.

  • Former experience with law enforcement agency, and/or military experience preferred.
