Who we are looking for:

The QC Analyst will perform the second line of defense quality control reviews for Cornerstone Capital Bank's Quality Control Department. The reviews will include a vendor audit of retail and builder loans to validate underwriting decisions, credit documentation, income calculations, appraisal credibility, and assess the overall accuracy and completeness of the transaction according to internal policies and investor guidelines. The QC Analyst will issue loan findings and collaborate with production and
operations teams for resolution and manage loan-level remediation efforts. Serving as a point of contact for the QC Help-Desk will also become a part of this role, to support internal team members.

What you'll do:



  • Perform post-closing review of residential mortgage loans in accordance with Conventional,
    FHA, VA, USDA and internal guidelines ensuring compliance and Lender's standards.
  • Identify and document loan defects, red flags, and compliance issues.
  • Have thorough knowledge of complex personal and business financial analysis and expertise in tax return and balance sheet analysis.
  • Functions will include but are not limited to, reviewing assets, financial statements, credit reports, applicable ratios, income documentation, appraisal, and title.
  • Maintain productivity independently and provide reports by a pre-established deadline.
  • Ensure that red flags and suspicious activity are elevated immediately for review.
  • Maintain current knowledge of all mortgage agency and investor guidelines and regulatory compliance.
  • Maintain current knowledge of all Cornerstone guidelines and overlays.
  • Provide Help-Desk support responding to internal inquiries from team members across
    departments.
  • Demonstrate excellent customer service skills with all departments and vendors.


What you'll need to be successful:

Success in this job relies on your time management skills, organization, and positive attitude. In addition, you'll need the following qualifications:



  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience
  • Minimum 5 years of strong mortgage underwriting experience
  • Additional experience with Quality control is a plus; DE certification and VA SAR is a plus
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills are a must
  • Strong communication skills are necessary to communicate with team members and senior management
  • Strong research and computer skills, proficiency with Microsoft Suite
  • Strong ability to pay significant attention to details. and patterns
