Overview

The Project Management Office within the Steam Operations organization at Con Edison is seeking a dedicated Senior Specialist to support project planning and execution. This role involves developing, updating, and maintaining project schedules using project management software to ensure alignment with project goals, timelines, and corporate standards. The Specialist will collaborate closely with project managers to support the capital procurement process and prepare monthly project forecast reports.The ideal candidate will demonstrate a strong commitment to Con Edison's core values, including fostering a Zero Accident Culture, promoting Diversity and Inclusion, driving Operational Excellence, enhancing Cost Management practices, and improving the Customer Experience. Responsibilities

Core Responsibilities
  • Create and update project schedules using project management software and ensure alignment with project goals and objectives.
  • Track project tasks, milestones, and deliverables against established schedule dates, identifying any deviations or potential delays.
  • Identify potential risks and issues that could impact project schedule, and work with project managers to develop and implement mitigation strategies.
  • Work with project team to ensure resources are assigned to respective tasks.
  • Provide regular updates on project status, such as progress reports, schedule forecast, scheduling risks to project managers and other stakeholders.
  • Ensure project schedules meet standard and align with Con Edison policies and procedures.
  • Support capital procurement process.
  • Work with project managers to develop and maintain monthly project forecast documents.
  • Support other Steam Operations Project Management Office duties.

Qualifications

Required Education/Experience
  • Bachelor's Degree and 5 years of related work experience, or
  • Master's Degree and 3 years of related work experience.
Relevant Work Experience
  • Minimum of three-year work experience related to project scheduling, creating communications for impact, and visual communications, required.
  • Ability to identify trends, conduct follow-up analysis, and create visualizations, required.
  • Computer literacy with proficiency in Windows environments and Microsoft Products (Word, Excel, Access, MS Teams, PowerPoint & CoPilot), required.
  • Strong analytical and creative problem-solving skills, required.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced and evolving work environment, required.
  • Familiarity with the scheduling tools (Microsoft Project, Primavera P6), required.

Licenses and Certifications
  • Driver's License Required
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) Preferred

  • Possess manual dexterity and the ability to use hands for the duration of the workday
  • Stand to use/operate office equipment for the duration of the workday

Additional Physical Demands
  • The selected candidate will be assigned a System Emergency Assignment (i.e., an emergency response role) and will be expected to work non-business hours during emergencies, which may include nights, weekends, and holidays.
