What you would do here:

As our Global Assistance Coordinator, you will provide a high level of service to customers experiencing emergencies worldwide. You will be a strong and steady voice when helping customers understand their policies, claims, benefits, and emergency services. You will utilize strong communication and problem-solving skills to help customers feel safe when they're at their most vulnerable. This is a temporary position with permanent potential after 6 months.

What you already know and have done:

  • Experience with medical terminology, communicating with providers, and knowledge of healthcare systems globally.
  • Proven ability to manage medical cases, analyze policy parameters, and provide recommendations based on medical necessity, health, and wellbeing.
  • Previously triaged and coordinated care with health care providers, arranged medical transportation, or emergency evacuations.
  • Ability to focus on details without losing sight of the overall vision, including monitoring, and double-checking your work and information for accuracy and quality to ensure all areas of a case are accounted for.
  • Demonstrate ability to utilize sound judgment and discretion through handling confidential policyholder or case information and navigating ambiguity.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently within parameters given.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage a high volume of work with exceptional organizational and time management skills with a high sense of urgency and accuracy.
  • Respond to incoming calls from customers experiencing travel or medical emergencies, providing clear guidance through both the intake and coordination processes to ensure efficient and compassionate support.
  • Arrange assistance services including but not limited to emergency evacuations, medical repatriations, hospital guarantee of payments, return of remains, pre-certifications
  • Coordinate care with domestic and international hospitals on behalf of the customer.
  • Work closely with external partners when arranging medically necessary transportation.
  • Collaborate closely with our Customer Service, Claims Department, and Medical Directors to ensure optimal service and quality care for our customers.
  • Support our Claims Department by completing medical reviews timely.
  • Handle confidential and proprietary information.
  • Provide service coverage outside of core business hours as dictated by company business needs, serving in a rotating on-call capacity.
  • Welcome new tasks with a positive attitude.

Requirements:

  • Registered Nurse (RN)
  • The position is an overnight shift during the following times:
  • Saturday and Sunday 5:30PM-6AM
  • Monday 9PM-7:30AM
  • Participate in the on-call rotation nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Hold professional liability insurance.
  • High sense of urgency to serve as a comforting voice for those away from their home during a crisis.
