Technical Writer and Editor Key Role: Research, outline, write, and edit technical documents, working closely with tech leads to understand project requirements. Gather information from subject matter experts (SMEs) to develop, organize, and write client-facing material including reports, briefings, user manuals, training manuals, and administrative documents. Shape and write strategic marketing documents, including slick sheets, whitepapers, and Request for Proposal (RFP) responses, and edit and proofread technical documents for presentation and publication. Rewrite portions of text to improve clarity, completeness, and cogency by correcting grammar, punctuation, misstatements, spelling, and ambiguity, and edit text to ensure conciseness, proper verb tenses, correct terminology, definition acronyms, symbols, and table captions. Ensure proper language usage and discussion flow, and verify all listed references are cited. Compare and proofread illustrations, photographs, tables, graphs, and charts with text to assure proper placement and layout, and ensure security markings are affixed as directed. Inform and engage key audiences and help promote an organization's reputation. Share your knowledge and be willing to win for the client and live our mission every day. Use your skills and experience to design, develop, and produce a variety of internal and external communication materials and media that supports the United States Special Operations Command. Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual's particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $77,500.00 to $176,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen's total compensation package for employees.
