Medical Receptionist - Referral Coordinator Baltimore, MD Pay From: $21 per hour MUST: Experienced Medical Receptionist - Referral Coordinator 3+ years of experience as a Medical Receptionist - Referral Coordinator 2+ years of experience working in a medical office Must have experience processing referrals and obtaining pre-authorizations Must have experience working with Dialysis Must have experience with Epic Must be able to work in fast-paced environment with demonstrated ability to move quickly between multiple competing tasks and demands Current knowledge of payer requirements Able to communicate effectively, both verbally and written Strong interpersonal and customer service Excellent attention to detail Proficiency medical terminology required DUTIES: Medical Receptionist - Referral Coordinator will be responsible for, but not limited to the following: Performs all medication prior authorizations as needed Ensures that referral and pre-authorization activities are undertaken to provide maximum patient and provider satisfaction and maximum reimbursement Obtains initial and subsequent authorization as needed for assigned location(s)/payer(s) Performs insurance verification and submits/tracks single case agreements, as necessary Maintains a working knowledge of reimbursement principles and rates Provides and documents ongoing communication with payer case managers for updates/changes/authorizations Escalates/Notifies supervisor of potential problem referrals Cross trained as intake and scheduling to assist when needed with additional departments Other duties as assigned *Quadrant, Inc. is an equal opportunity and affirmative action employer.
