Job Summary
Assists the Central Monitor Center management team in coordinating and facilitating daily operation. The Lead Central Monitor Technician is a role that a central monitor technician assumes on a shift by shift basis and will not be in the lead role for their full FTE status. As such, all responsibilities, requirements and essential function of the Central Monitor Technician role within their unit/department apply to them in the Lead Central Monitor Technician role. Requirements of the Central Monitor Technician role within their area must still be followed (refer to parent job description for complete listing of requirements for the role).
Essential Functions
  • The Lead Central Monitor Technician will perform all essential functions of the Central Monitor Technician job description, as well as, those listed below.
  • The lead central monitor technician is an informal member of the leadership team and serves as the person in charge during their shift. They are in charge of the staffing process and help to resolve/follow-up with monitoring related issues.
  • Creates assignments, facilitates MDI huddles, coordinates and ensures breaks for staff. Monitors and adjusts schedule/assignments to ensure coverage that supports the need of the unit.
  • Participates in ongoing performance monitoring and identifies opportunities to improve staff performance. Evaluates performance of department staff, submits input about work performance and supplies documentation for disciplinary action.
  • Organizes, directs, and oversees daily activities, establishes work flow pattern assists in establishing work performance standards and establishes work priorities.
  • Maintains inventory of materials, forms and supplies according to department standards.
  • Write/recommend/assist with implementation of department policies and procedures.
  • Works along-side leadership to improve work-flow processes and implement changes within the unit. Acts on behalf of the leader in resolving work-related issues, both with nursing units and equipment maintenance. Reports issues to upline.
Qualifications
  • Required High School Diploma or equivalent
  • 6 months of relevant experience Health care Preferred
  • Successful completion of a competency-based orientation program Required
  • CRT-CPR - AHA American Heart Association Ludington
    90 Days required
