JOB FUNCTION / SUMMARY:

The Regional Retail Operations Leader provides leadership and oversight for multiple markets within the Retail Banking division, ensuring consistent operational execution, service excellence, and risk management across financial centers. This role directs and develops a team of Retail Operations Leaders, driving accountability for operational controls, compliance adherence, workforce optimization, and client experience. The position partners closely with senior Retail leadership to identify and implement process improvements that enhance efficiency, mitigate risk, and support the Bank's strategic objectives.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Lead, coach, and develop Retail Operations Leaders to ensure effective management of branch operations, service delivery, and workforce performance, including evaluation and improvement of processes and procedures.
  • Oversee operational risk management, compliance adherence, and business continuity planning and execution across assigned markets; escalate significant issues to senior Retail leadership.
  • Ensure compliance with banking regulations and internal controls; coordinate remediation activities with risk and regulatory teams.
  • Monitor client service and experience metrics to ensure consistent delivery of superior service across regions.
  • Partner with Retail Operations Leaders to address controllable losses, fraud mitigation, and adherence to operational guidelines.
  • Provide input to senior leadership on process, policy, and operational improvements to strengthen efficiency and client outcomes.
  • Oversee workforce planning across regions, including staffing models, scheduling, and resource alignment.
  • Ensure completion of required training across all markets; identify gaps in sales, service, and compliance training and implement solutions.
  • Conduct field visits to financial centers to assess operations, reinforce best practices, and identify improvement opportunities.
  • Drive alignment with the Bank's vision, mission, and core values by modeling leadership and accountability for ethical standards.
  • Represent Retail Operations in cross-functional initiatives, strategic projects, and community engagement activities as needed.

MINIMUM REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & KNOWLEDGE:

  • Bachelor's degree in business, finance, or related field required (advanced degree preferred).
  • Minimum of 10 years of retail/branch banking experience, including market or regional oversight.
  • Minimum of 7 years of management experience.
  • Strong understanding of branch operations, regulatory compliance, and risk management.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead organizational change and process improvement across multiple teams.
  • Proven track record of building talent pipelines, coaching leaders, and driving employee engagement.
  • Strong communication, analytical, and decision-making skills.

ESSENTIAL MENTAL & PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Ability to travel if required to perform the essential job functions
  • Ability to work under stress and meet deadlines
  • Ability to operate related equipment to perform the essential job functions
  • Ability to read and interpret a document if required to perform the essential job functions
  • Ability to lift/move/carry approximately 10 pounds if required to perform the essential job functions. If the employee is unable to lift/move/carry this weight and can be accommodated without causing the department/division an "undue hardship" then the employee must be accommodated; hence omitting lifting/moving/carrying as a physical requirement.
