We are seeking a Risk Advisor (Engineer Risk) who will play a critical role in identifying, evaluating, and communicating risks related to asset integrity, operational reliability, and Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) across Enbridge Gas assets in Canada and the USA.

This position supports risk-informed decision-making by conducting fit-for-purpose risk assessments, developing risk models, and translating technical insights into actionable recommendations for diverse stakeholders. The role also contributes to value assessments for major investments through risk and benefit analysis, helping guide decisions that balance safety, performance, and operational priorities.

What you will do:

Conduct risk assessments to support risk-informed decision making

  • Apply fit-for-purpose risk assessment methodologies to identify and evaluate operational risks-including health & safety, operations, environment, reputation, and financial aspects. These assessments may include qualitative and quantitative techniques such as Fault Tree Analysis (FTA) and Event Tree Analysis (ETA), depending on the complexity and nature of the risk scenario.

  • Apply ALARP (As Low As Reasonably Practicable) principle in risk assessments and communication of results.

  • Conduct risk tolerability assessments.

  • Conduct value assessments (risk and benefit analysis).

Develop expertise and best company practices in risk modelling

  • Engage collaborators to understand their needs in risk assessment (qualitative and quantitative).

Report on risks

  • Provide clear and concise documentation to a broad range of internal and external stakeholders.

  • Exercise independent judgment in selecting appropriate risk methodologies (e.g., risk assessment workshop, FTA, ETA) and lead the execution.

Who you are:

  • Related university degree in Engineering or equivalent, with P. Eng. or P. Eng underway (preference for PE designation for US applicants), and four-plus years' experience; OR six-plus years of previous field operations experience; OR equivalent mix of formal education and experience.

  • Relevant industry experience of conducting and managing Qualitative and Quantitative Risk Assessment (QRA), especially FTA, ETA and consequence analysis.

  • Highly numerate, logical, self-motivated individual with excellent attention to details.

  • Ability to present and facilitate to a wide variety of audiences, including senior management.

  • Preference for those with experience in integrity and/or reliability and/or pipeline engineering, also for those with experience in data analysis and/or statistical analysis.

Working Conditions:

  • Office environment.

  • Limited travel required to attend meetings elsewhere in the province or nationally to other Enbridge sites.

Physical Requirements include but are not limited to:

Grasping, kneeling, light - moderate lifting (objects up to 20 pounds), reaching above shoulder, repetitive motion, typing, sitting, standing, visual requirement (able to see screens, detect color coding, read fine print), hearing requirement and the ability to sit at a computer for long periods of time.

Ability to: understand, remember and apply oral and/or written instructions or other information, understand complex problems and collaborate/explore alternative solutions, organize thoughts and ideas into understandable terminology, organize and prioritize work schedule on a short-term basis, make decisions which have moderate impact on the immediate work unit and monitor impact outside this area, understand and follow basic instructions and guidelines, complete routine forms, compose letters, outlines, memoranda and basic reports and communicate with individuals via telephone.
