- Supports all accounting-related activities, projects, analysis, and conversions for an assigned area outside Finance.
- Responsible for the development and management of operational accounting control functions in support of the client accounting systems, including maintaining the accounting entry flow process to support accurate and timely reconciliation of all general ledger accounts and internal and external reporting of financial information and regulatory reporting.
- Independently leads projects within the department and represents the department in cross-functional, high-visibility projects involving business partners outside of the department.
- Support the monthly closing of the general ledger for an assigned area outside Finance, including analysing and interpreting account fluctuations and monthly/quarterly reporting (could include manual processing).
- Develop monthly variance analysis, reconciliations, tests of accounting data integrity, and work paper reviews.
- Review accounting transaction documentation for completeness and accuracy, research and resolve account variances.
- Guide less experienced personnel and offer input to their annual review process.
- Drive the improvement and implementation of existing and new processes related to accounting for various products, enhancing the efficiency and effectiveness of the department.
- Support the integration of acquired portfolios into the client's general ledger.
- Support the creation of business requirements documents and functional requirements, as well as test and implement these new requirements.
- Conduct highly technical accounting-based research and analysis projects to provide management with definitive financial data and advice for their use.
- Participate in interpreting and analysing financial information, presenting results, and providing recommendations.
- Participate in special projects related to accounting, financial reporting, regulatory reporting, and policy and procedure review.
- Understand and adhere to the Company's risk and regulatory standards, policies, and controls in accordance with the Company's Risk Appetite.
- Identify risk-related issues needing escalation to management.
- Promote an environment that fosters diversity and aligns with the client's brand.
- Maintain client internal control standards, including the timely implementation of internal and external audit points, together with any issues raised by external regulators as applicable.
- Complete other related duties as assigned.
- The position works independently under general supervision, as well as being a member of a project team.
- This position involves interaction with internal client business partners, as well as internal and external auditors, with support from more experienced personnel on more complex issues.

Required Skills / Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED with 6 years of experience
- Minimum 2 years of experience in accounting, audit, and financial institutions.
- Minimum 6 years of experience in setting an example for others.
Preferred Skills / Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting.
- Master's Degree in Business Administration (MBA).
- Minimum 2 years of bank operations accounting experience.
- Good personal computer skills with a thorough knowledge of pertinent spreadsheet, word processing and database software as needed by the assigned area.
- Thorough knowledge and application of GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.
- Good interpersonal skills.
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA).
- Experience in the Equipment Finance Industry.
- Financial Accounting, Reporting, and Reconciliation experience.
- Excel, General Ledger, and Loan Systems experience.
