The Family Child Care Specialist, for our Wakefield location, is responsible for the monitoring of sub-contracted family childcare providers across several content areas as well as supporting participating families enrolled in the system. will also be responsible for the enrollment of children into the FCC System, collection of parent fees, and facilitating back up care.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities




  • Review developmentally appropriate curriculum plans prepared by FCC sub-contracted providers on a monthly basis.
  • Model/demonstrate developmentally appropriate practices in sub-contracted provider's home.
  • Work with assigned sub-contracted providers through twice a month provider visit to provide technical assistance and ensure compliance around quality program, health, safety standards and behavior management.
  • Facilitate placement of children into sub-contracted provider homes including communicating effectively with parents, sub-contracted providers and related community agencies regarding eligibility, enrollment, and required documentation.
  • Coordinate developmental assessment of children and provide referral for needed services and follow up.
  • Complete Provider Assessments in each Provider home as assigned.
  • Act as the liaison between parents, sub-contracted providers and CFS support staff.
  • Supervise children, during placement interviews, field trips and in emergency situations.
  • Facilitate case management of children and families.
  • Maintain up to date and accurate information on sub-contracted Providers, Families and Children in the agency data base(s). Maintain and audit files.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.


QUALIFICATIONS:



  • Strong, proven leadership and decision-making abilities required.
  • HS or equivalent required.
  • Related experience is required.
  • Desire to work with low income, culturally diverse, and at-risk families and individuals.
  • Excellent Customer Service, organizational, interpersonal, oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent crisis management skills.
  • Proficient computer skills required in basic computer software and data collection systems.
  • Good attention to detail and ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Bilingual skills (English/Portuguese or English/Spanish) desired.
  • Evidence of recent Mantoux, physical exam, and MMR.
  • CORI / SORI/ DCF / fingerprinting.
  • Reliable transportation required.
