Intralox L.L.C., the world leader in conveyor equipment solutions utilizing modular plastic conveyor belts, has a position available for a Quality Specialist at our Sparrows Point and Hanover, MD locations (this position will have duties at both Intralox's Sparrows Point and Hanover, MD Locations, but primarily be based at Sparrows Point).

Job Responsibilities and Requirements
Responsibilities:
- As the Quality Specialist, you will oversee/conduct incoming inspection, inspect finished goods as well as in line audits. The chosen candidate will perform regular product evaluations, record inspection results, and recommend improvements to the production process.
- To excel in this role, applicants should demonstrate great ability to respond, diagnose, and resolve multiple quality issues simultaneously while communicating relevant information with all stakeholders.
- Communicate with vendors on non-conformance.
- Work cross functionally with internal and external teams/contacts to solve problems and determine root cause to resolution.
- Self-Managed and able to be productive with minimal guidance.
- Reject all products and materials that fail to meet quality expectations and if necessary, form and Implement a containment plan.
- Read engineering drawings, plans, and specifications to understand the requirements of parts/products and services.
- Measure product dimensions, trouble-shoot functionality, and compare the final product to the specifications.
- Recommend improvements to the production process to ensure quality control.
- Document inspection outcomes by completing detailed reports and performance records.
- Teach the production team about quality control concerns to improve product excellence.
- Resolve quality-related issues with a sense of urgency and in a timely manner.
- Encourage an environment of teamwork and convey the concepts of the Laitram Business Philosophy with the department.
- Assess quality performance and develop strategic plans, processes, and metrics to improve performance.
- Performs a variety of complicated Quality Assurance tasks.
- May be assigned medium to large sized projects to accomplish independently.
- May work closely with and direct Quality and Manufacturing associates to complete projects.
- Relies on and creates instructions and establishes guidelines to perform the functions of the job.
- Positive attitude in stressful situations.
Position Requirements:
- A High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
- At least three (3) years of experience in quality inspection or quality assurance role.
- Specific experience operating forklifts of various types (such as cherry pickers, turret trucks, etc.) to move material around the manufacturing floor.
- Hands-on experience with mechanical systems.
- Excellent knowledge of MS Office.
- Good math and technical skills.
- Strong problem-solving and project management skills
- Strong understanding of quality control standards and testing techniques.
- Ability to work in a dynamic environment and under the pressure of deadlines.
- Possess a strong attention to detail.
- Willing to work overtime and on weekends as required.
- Willing and able to perform a variety of tasks in support of short- and long-term goals of the Manufacturing division.
- Travel to vendors and customer sites overnight stay may be required.
- Functional knowledge of statistics.
- Ability to travel to both Sparrows Point and Hanover locations.
- Ability to lift 50lbs.
- A valid driver's license.
Preferred Requirements:
- Certification in Quality Control.
- Experience in an equipment engineer-to-order and assemble-to-order manufacturing environment
- Possess an ASQ or equivalent certification
- Experience in a mass production inspection environment
- Experience implementing SPC and/or Six-Sigma concepts
- Experience in or aptitude for Quality
- Knowledge of best practices for the Quality Assurance function in a Manufacturing environment
- Experience with quality tools such as CMM or other measuring systems.

The position is eligible for one of the following: commissions, discretionary incentives, or production incentives according to the terms of those plans.
Salary Range: $49,100 to $93,400
