DESCRIPTION OF WORK

In this position, you will assist the County Maintenance Division by providing essential building trades support to fulfill the requirements of the County Bridge Program and model stockpile standards. Your responsibilities will encompass a range of tasks related to the repair and upkeep of structures, bridges, equipment, and machinery, all aimed at ensuring public safety. Proficiency in carpentry, welding, masonry, electrical, and plumbing trades at a journeyman level is essential. You will be involved in maintaining and repairing various structures, including drainage culverts and bridges, by constructing forms, pouring and finishing concrete, welding metal components, and applying paint as necessary to prolong the lifespan of these assets. Additionally, you will carry out masonry work for the maintenance of county buildings and infrastructure, which includes constructing forms, finishing concrete, and sealing surfaces when required, as well as performing plumbing and electrical repairs within the county maintenance facilities.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment
  • Work hours are 7:30 AM to 3:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
  • Hours may change based on seasonal needs
  • Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
  • Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • Two years of experience as a Maintenance Repairman 1 (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
  • Four years of experience in building and plant maintenance work, which has involved at least two of the building, electrical, or mechanical trades; or
  • Any equivalent combination of experience and training that affords the applicant with the Required Knowledges, Skills, and Abilities.

Special Requirements:

  • This position requires possession of a valid Pennsylvania Class C Driver's License.

Additional Requirements:
  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.
