About the Role:
NV5 is seeking several Senior Radiation Protection Technicians to support radiological
operations at support radiological operations at DOE, NRC, and state-licensed sites across the
U.S. This role is critical in ensuring safe and compliant handling of radioactive materials and
maintaining high standards of radiation protection across various site activities.

Responsibilities

Conduct radiation control activities supporting maintenance, decontamination, hazardous material shipping, and compliance operations.

Perform radiological surveys (radiation, contamination, airborne radioactivity) and document findings.
Execute release surveys for materials, equipment, and property transitioning from controlled to uncontrolled areas.
Evaluate radiological conditions and post appropriate signage and controls.
Support and respond to radiological incidents, including contaminated personnel or areas, and assist in corrective actions.
Provide radiological oversight during the preparation, packaging, and shipment of radioactive materials and waste.
Collect and analyze radiological samples; manage air monitoring and sampling programs.
Maintain accurate records and data related to radiological activities.

Qualifications

Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in radiation measurement, radioisotope handling, and radiation monitoring.
At least 1 year performing radiation protection duties at a nuclear power plant
2 years performing radiological job coverage as a qualified technician.
Strong understanding of radiation safety principles and ability to apply advanced technical concepts.
Proven ability to work independently and collaboratively within a radiation protection team.
Must be physically capable of lifting and transporting up to 40 pounds, and able to bend, stoop, stand, and walk for extended periods (4-6 hours/day).
Must be able to pass a routine medical exam

The pay range for this position is $35.00 to $60.00 per hour. The base pay offered may be higher or lower, depending on the candidate's job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and location. Restricted stock units may be provided as part of the compensation package, along with a full range of medical, financial, and other benefits, depending on the position offered.
