  • Maintenance Apprentice

Learns maintenance functions (mechanical or electrical/electronic) necessary to maintain all operating and service equipment using standard and specialized tools and equipment including mobile equipment as required. Operates equipment in conjunction with repairs and provides assistance in operating functions as necessary to maintain efficiency and continuity of operations. Works alongside Master, A, or B Maintenance Technicians and coordinates and works in conjunction with operating team members in the performance of maintenance tasks. Maintains inventory and cleanliness of tool crib and shop.

  • Maintenance Technician

Performs all maintenance functions (mechanical or electrical/electronic) necessary to maintain all operating and service equipment using standard and specialized tools and equipment including mobile equipment as required. Operates equipment in conjunction with repairs and provides assistance in operating functions as necessary to maintain efficiency and continuity of operations. May work alone, with minimal supervision or with other Maintenance Technicians and coordinates and work in conjunction with operating team members in the performance of maintenance tasks.

  • Maintenance Technician

Coordinates and performs mechanical, electrical, or electronic functions necessary to maintain operating and service equipment using standard and specialized tools and equipment. May utilize special skills or ability to make mechanical, electrical, or electronic repairs, to perform inspections, and to perform preventive maintenance as required. Can operate production equipment in connection with mechanical, electrical, or electronic functions and provide assistance with operating functions as necessary to optimize safety, product quality, and unit productivity.

  • Master Mechanic

Coordinates and performs mechanical, electrical, or electronic functions, including programming necessary to maintain operating and service equipment using standard and specialized tools and equipment. May utilize special skills or ability to make mechanical, electrical, or electronic repairs, to perform inspections, and to perform preventive maintenance as required. Can operate production equipment in connection with mechanical, electrical, or electronic functions and provide assistance with operating functions as necessary to optimize safety, product quality, and unit productivity. Will act as a department lead assisting in the scheduling of other mechanics and ordering parts as needed in coordination with department supervisor.

Responsibilities

  • Promptly and properly report all incidents, injuries, damage, spills and/or releases.
  • Promptly report and, if possible, correct all unsafe acts and/or conditions
  • Wear personal protective equipment (PPE) required by the applicable PPE hazard assessments.
  • Maintain a clean work area and perform required housekeeping activities.
  • Works safely with and around hazardous materials and hazardous waste including flammable or combustible liquids and compressed gases.
  • Performs other work assigned by Management.
  • Obeys all plant safety rules, comply with plant administrative and operating procedures. Promotes safety to other employees. Performs all required Safety Health and Environmental responsibilities.

Requirements & Qualifications

  • Pass pre-employment medical screening
  • A minimum score of 70% shall be required to pass the written test, and successful completion of all on-the-job tasks shall be required to pass the OTJ test. Employees transferring from within the bargaining unit and new hires will be subject to the same testing and requirements.
  • Must be able to read and understand blueprints, figure basic mathematics calculations, and operate hand tools and machinery in the plant. Must be able to do basic welding and

  • Maintenance openings will be bid in accordance with the Agreement. Testing for advancement to higher grades shall be offered within every twelve (12) months, or at the request of the employee at six (6) month intervals. Employees who bid to, or new hires who are placed, in the position of Maintenance Technician C must advance to Maintenance Technician B within eighteen (18) months or be disqualified. This period may be extended by mutual agreement.
