Overview: Under general supervision, this role is responsible for guiding patients through their insurance coverage and financial responsibilities. The representative educates patients on benefits, assesses financial ability, and may assist with identifying and applying for financial aid programs. This position also ensures accurate and timely updates to patient insurance information and supports compliance with organizational standards and values. Key Responsibilities: Prior to treatment, collect insurance details and patient demographics. Educate patients on coverage, co-pays, deductibles, and out-of-pocket costs. Assess financial capacity and discuss payment options. Provide information on financial assistance programs and help complete necessary forms. Prepare cost estimates based on diagnosis, coverage, and aid eligibility. Obtain pre-authorizations or referral codes from clinical reviewers. Review account balances and coordinate with front desk for patient follow-up. Ensure co-pay amounts are accurately entered for proper collection. Verify and update insurance and demographic data at each visit. Stay informed on available financial aid programs and build relationships with aid providers. Maintain confidentiality and adhere to all applicable privacy regulations. Keep manuals, logs, and documentation current. Perform other duties as assigned. *Skills* Help desk support, Customer service, Patient service *Top Skills Details* Help desk support,Customer service,Patient service *Additional Skills & Qualifications* Pay is $17-$19 $20 if they are bilingual The ideal candidate for the Patient Benefits Representative will have the following experience: High school diploma or equivalent required. Minimum three (3) years patient pre-services coordinator or equivalent required. Proficiency with computer systems and Microsoft Office (Word and Excel) required. Demonstrate knowledge of CPT coding and HCPS coding application. Must be able to verbally communicate clearly and utilize the appropriate and correct terminology. Must successfully complete required e-learning courses within 90 days of occupying position. *Experience Level* Intermediate Level *Pay and Benefits* The pay range for this position is $17.00 - $19.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
