Job Description

Summary: Plays a critical role in optimizing supply chain operations through Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP). Responsibilities vary across segments, with common themes of including data-driven decision-making, collaboration, value creation, and strategic operational insights.



Job Objectives: Provide the data, insight, and structure needed to improve the efficiency, reliability, and profitability of the fuel distribution network. The role focuses on analyzing sales, supply, and logistics data to identify trends, measure performance, and highlight risks across bobtail and transport operations. By building and maintaining dashboards, KPIs, and reports, the analyst supports driver utilization, on-time delivery, and order-to-cash processes. Beyond reporting, the analyst partners with dispatch, pricing, sales, and supply teams to recommend improvements in planning, scheduling, and customer service. Advising proactive decision-making, optimizing routes, reducing costs, leveraging tank monitors and ERP systems, and ensuring alignment of supply with customer demand in a high-paced, competitive market.



Key Accountabilities:



  • Investigate root causes of delivery delays, stockouts, and inefficiencies, providing data-driven recommendations and supporting corrective actions.
  • Develop, maintain, and interpret dashboards and reports that track fuel supply chain performance (driver utilization, on-time delivery, gallons delivered, overtime, inventory, etc.).
  • Analyze dispatch, sales, and supply data to identify bottlenecks and opportunities for improvement across bobtail and transport operations.
  • Support demand forecasting and supply planning to ensure alignment of product availability, driver coverage, and customer delivery expectations.
  • Recommend and help implement improvements in order-to-cash, scheduling, routing, and billing workflows to reduce waste and improve reliability.
  • Define, monitor, and continuously refine KPIs for logistics, supply, and customer service, ensuring alignment with company goals.
  • Leverage SAP, dispatch (SmartLogix), monitoring tools, and analytics platforms to improve accuracy, visibility, and decision-making.
  • Work closely with dispatch, pricing, sales, supply, and finance teams to align operations with commercial strategy and customer commitments.
  • Support development of internal standards and external requirements, ensuring accurate reporting and reducing exposure to operational and commercial risk.


Qualifications



  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business, Finance, or related field (or equivalent experience and training).
  • 2+ years of experience in supply chain, logistics, or operations (fuel industry experience preferred but not required).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret large datasets.
  • Proficiency in Excel (advanced formulas, pivot tables), and experience with data visualization tools (Power BI, Tableau, etc.).
  • Familiarity with ERP/dispatch systems (SAP, SmartLogix, Samsara, or similar) is an advantage.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, able to partner with cross-functional teams in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
