Accounting Manager

We're partnering with a growing company in the Raleigh area to hire an Accounting Manager. This is a high-impact role that blends hands-on accounting with forward-looking financial support. This is a great opportunity for someone who thrives in fast-paced, evolving environments and enjoys being the go-to for both the details and the big picture.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead daily accounting operations, including GL maintenance, journal entries, accruals, and account reconciliations
  • Own the monthly, quarterly, and annual close process; ensure accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with GAAP
  • Oversee inventory accounting, including valuation and reconciliation of raw materials, WIP, and finished goods
  • Manage and review financial statements, supporting schedules, and internal management reports
  • Collaborate with Sales, Operations, and Legal teams on contract review, revenue recognition, and billing processes
  • Assist in preparing budgets, rolling forecasts, and financial dashboards for leadership and board presentations
  • Drive process and system improvements to enhance accuracy, automation, and scalability
  • Monitor cash flow and assist in managing working capital
  • Coordinate with external auditors and tax advisors during year-end audits and compliance filings
  • Help build and maintain internal controls and accounting policies in a growing environment
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
  • CPA highly preferred
  • 5+ years of experience, ideally with a mix of public accounting and industry
  • Solid understanding of US GAAP, inventory accounting, and COGS
  • Familiarity with ASC 842 and ASC 606 is desired
  • Strong Excel skills; experience with NetSuite or a similar ERP is a plus
Determining compensation for this role (and others) at Vaco/Highspring depends upon a wide array of factors including but not limited to the individual's skill sets, experience and training, licensure and certifications, office location and other geographic considerations, as well as other business and organizational needs. The individual may also be eligible for discretionary bonuses, and can participate in medical, dental, and vision benefits as well as the company's 401(k) retirement plan
