Primary Function: Responsible for visually inspecting in-process wax patterns and wax assemblies to ensure product conforms to customer specifications and internal department criteria. Principle Duties and Responsibilities: Performs in-process inspection of wax parts. Utilizes hand tools to evaluate dimensions before and after assembly. Performs spot checks on operator inspections. Reviews gating outlines for compliance. Aids in training others to improve product first pass yield and ensure acceptable product for next operation. Works with Quality Assurance, Process Control and Supervision to create and maintain inspection techniques. Minimum Job Requirements: Able to work in a production environment. Able to read and comprehend English. Able to read and interpret blueprints and specifications. Able to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Able to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables. Able to add and subtract two-digit numbers and to multiply and divide with tens and 100s. Able to lift and carry up to 35 lbs. frequently. Able to communicate effectively with co-workers and work independently. Near vision requirement is Jaeger J1 in one eye at no less than 12 inches; or equivalent, or Jaeger J2 in one eye, at no less than 16 inches. Corrected or uncorrected. Color perception required each year; Standard used: Keystone VS11 (Red-Green and Blue Violet) or Ishihara. Able to use Microsoft Office applications primarily Excel. Complies with company and departmental policies and procedures, including company's attendance policy. Desired Competencies: Certified Quality Inspector Certification 9 to 12 months of training or experience. High School Diploma or G.E.D. Solid understanding and/or experience with GD&T. Normal Working Conditions Works under general direction and infrequent supervision, planning details of procedure and methods to attain definite objectives. Makes decision within broad limitations of policies and within accepted standards. Frequent work required in areas with fumes and/or airborne particles and areas with loud noise. Occasional sitting required. Frequent standing, walking, reaching above shoulder level, reaching below shoulder level, stooping or squatting, talking, hearing, pushing or pulling required.
