Job Description: Perkins Coie is searching for a Financial Analyst, Performance Analytics to join our Finance Department. This role is responsible for developing, implementing, and distributing financial performance data, reports, and analytical tools that empower firm leadership to evaluate and enhance timekeeper and departmental productivity. The Financial Analyst will document, review, and revise algorithms defining key performance measures, partner with Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) to deliver standardized profitability and productivity reporting, and provide ad hoc analysis as needed. The Financial Analyst collaborates cross-functionally with the Finance, Human Resources, Practice Management, and Technology teams, and supports the Partner Compensation Committee (PCC) with relevant performance insights. Advanced data analysis and reporting skills are essential for communicating trends, identifying opportunities for improvement, and facilitating data-driven decision-making. The ideal candidate will demonstrate confidentiality, strong project management capabilities, and proficiency with financial reporting tools and relational databases. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Collaborating cross-functionally to ensure measurement standards and best practices are integrated into operational and strategic projects. Designing and maintaining performance measurement algorithms tailored for productivity, efficiency, and profitability. Partnering with FP&A and other analytics groups to deliver standardized and actionable reports and dashboards focused on key performance indicators. Supporting firm leadership and committees with the interpretation of performance data and delivery of insights that drive strategic decision-making. Combining advanced data analysis, visualization, and reporting skills to identify improvement opportunities and communicate findings effectively to stakeholders. Collaborate with the broader FP&A team on special projects and cross-functional initiatives, providing analytical support and sharing expertise to enhance firm-wide financial planning and performance analysis. Perform regular administrative duties for the Performance Analytics team, including managing team calendars, tracking key deadlines, coordinating meetings, and ensuring timely completion of deliverables to support efficient team operations. Perform other duties, as assigned. Be present at work during regularly scheduled working hours and as needed in the position, consistent with the firm's attendance expectations. SPECIFIC SKILLS REQUIREDAdept at data analysis and preparing concise reports to assist firm leadership in understanding changes, trends and underlying issues. Demonstrates strong communication skills by effectively conveying complex financial and performance analytics information both verbally and in written form, with a clear focus on understanding and addressing client needs and delivering high-quality client service. Demonstrates the ability to efficiently organize and monitor multiple projects, communicate progress to relevant stakeholders, and ensure timely completion with comprehensive documentation, all while working independently with minimal supervision. Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills with a curiosity for continuous learning and development. Ability to establish effective working relationships at all levels of firm personnel. Ability to appropriately manage information, materials and communications with proper regard for confidentiality. Solid understanding of relational databases, business intelligence packages, and financial reporting tools. SPECIFIC SKILLS PREFERRED Experience with Elite 3e, Power BI, Smartsheet. Working knowledge of SQL. EDUCATION, LICENSES, CERTIFICATIONS, AND EXPERIENCERequires a BA/BS degree in Finance, Data Science or Management Information Systems. A minimum of 3 years of experience in financial reporting and analysis, or equivalent, preferably in a law firm or other service industry. TECHNOLOGY, APPLICATIONSProficiency with the Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook) with advanced Excel skills. The listed compensation range reflects the typical pay for this role, though it is rare for new hires to receive an offer at the top of the range. Actual compensation may vary depending on experience, skills, market conditions, and internal equity.
