Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant (Neurology) - .8 FTE

We are seeking a Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner to join the MHealth Fairview Neurology team. This is a spilt inpatient/outpatient role and will be practiced primarily at the Maplewood Neuroscience clinic, Ridges and UMMC locations.

Practice Details:

  • Evaluate and treat adult neurological patients in a inpatient clinical setting
  • In a very autonomous role you will care for hospitalized patients with acute and chronic neurologic conditions by performing hospital consults and daily rounding
  • Respond to urgent or emergent neurological issues to evaluate and triage next steps (This does not include assessment of stroke patients)
  • Potential to perform lumbar punctures
  • Join a multidisciplinary team including physician specialists, pharmacists, physical, occupational and speech therapists and social workers
  • Ongoing collaboration with all members of our care team, patients and families
  • Partner with hospital teams to improve the quality of care and patient satisfaction

Practice Details:

  • Part time 32 hours per week
  • Monday - Friday
  • No current weekend or holiday requirements
  • May have some cross coverage at other M Health Fairview locations

The full-time salary range is $125,759 - $155,660 commensurate with practice experience and may also include incentive compensation or additional specialty-specific compensation components. Salary prorated based on FTE.

Position Qualifications:

A qualified candidate will be a graduate of an accredited school of nursing and formal Nurse Practitioner training program or a graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program. Have a current MN RN license and be approved or eligible by the Minnesota Board of Nursing for prescription writing privileges or a current PA license with prescriptive authority through the MN Board of Medical Practice. Be certified through ANA / AANC or eligible for ANA/AANC national exam or through the NCCPA and meet threshold criteria/qualifications for credentialing and privileges.

Preferred Qualifications:

3 years as an advanced practice provider experience in a neurologic care setting is preferred. New graduates with an interest in neurology are encouraged to apply.
