Strategic Sourcing Specialist

Position Summary

Responsible for executing key purchasing functions across material procurement and logistics to support cost-effective production at the highest quality standards. Manage requests for proposals and oversee bidding processes. Build and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers to secure competitive pricing. Identify and implement innovative strategies for bundling procurement services or customizing orders to achieve more favorable terms.

Essential Job Functions

  • Identify and evaluate suppliers by sourcing reliable vendors to meet organizational needs.
  • Negotiate contracts and establish mutually beneficial agreements with suppliers.
  • Analyze and improve procurement processes to increase efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance overall operations.
  • Stay informed on market trends, industry best practices, and supplier performance.
  • Collaborate with internal departments to understand needs and maintain strong supplier relationships.
  • Ensure that procured materials and services meet company standards, budget requirements, and vendor qualifications.
  • Monitor supplier performance, including quality, delivery, and overall compliance.
  • Work with legal counsel to ensure procurement contracts accurately reflect negotiated terms.
  • Comply with OSHA regulations and company safety policies, applying SafeStart training to reinforce safe work practices and prevent injury.
  • Support Atlas Copco's "Safety First" policy and implement sustainable processes to achieve targets for Quality, Environment, Safety, Health, and Energy/Resource Efficiency.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
To succeed, you will need

Required Qualifications:

  • 4-6 years of experience in purchasing or procurement; experience with launching new product portfolios is a plus.
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, Finance, or a related field.
  • Self-motivated and resourceful with a proactive approach to procurement.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Willingness and ability to quickly learn new skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Access, Excel, and Power BI.
