Job Title: Staff Accountant
Location: Irving, TX (on-site)
Office Hour: 8:00am - 5:00pm
Position Type: Full-time, Non-Exempt, Direct-Hire
Overview:
An international consumer packaged goods (CPG) company is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Staff Accountant to support their day-to-day accounting operations. This is an excellent opportunity for an entry-level professional to gain hands-on experience across a wide range of accounting functions, including monthly close, cash management, tax support, revenue accounting, and accounts payable. The ideal candidate will be eager to learn, adaptable, and ready to contribute to a collaborative team environment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include but not are limited to:
Assist with the monthly financial close process by preparing journal entries, reconciling accounts, and ensuring costs are accurately recorded
Monitor daily cash transactions and perform monthly bank reconciliations
Contribute to revenue accounting activities, including reconciliations, revenue analysis, and reporting
Support tax compliance by gathering information for corporate tax, sales tax, and 1099 filings
Process accounts payable transactions, including voucher preparation and expense recording
Ensure adherence to company policies and internal controls; recommend process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy
Qualifications:
Basic knowledge of accounting principles
One or more years of accounting experience preferred
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including advanced functions such as VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables, SUMIF, IFERROR, and DSUM
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred
Strong attention to detail, accuracy, organizational, and communication skills
Japanese bilingual ability or an interest in Japanese culture preferred
