Position Overview

The Operations/Building Engineer serves as the primary point of contact for daily facility management and maintenance services across multiple client sites. This role requires strong leadership, coordination, and relationship management skills to ensure exceptional service delivery while maintaining high client satisfaction standards.

Key Responsibilities

Facility Operations Management

  • Serve as single point of contact for daily facility management and maintenance services across assigned client sites
  • Be present and visible on-site at each client facility
  • Coordinate delivery of comprehensive maintenance and repair services for all applicable client facilities
  • Matrix-manage JLL on-site team members with full accountability for performance of all FM resources
  • Monitor and manage facility KPIs to proactively identify challenges and implement corrective actions using industry best practices
  • Support small project coordination and facility management tasks as directed

Work Order & Maintenance Management

  • Oversee corrective and reactive work order processes from initiation to completion
  • Conduct initial troubleshooting and root cause analysis for a variety of facility issues from plumbing, electrical, HVAC/refrigeration, architectural finishes, and so on.
  • Coordinate communications with regional/local management, landlords, contractors, and site contacts
  • Assist with coordination, scheduling, and security access for maintenance activities
  • Receive and dispatch work requests to appropriate technical staff, vendors, or service providers
  • Ensure preventive maintenance and recurring services are scheduled and completed on-time

Vendor & Supplier Relations

  • Develop and maintain strategic relationships with vendors and suppliers
  • Collaborate on scope definition and coordinate facility walk-throughs
  • Manage subcontractor performance to ensure delivery against contracts and expectations
  • Compile and analyze estimates for accuracy and cost-effectiveness
  • Oversee supplier quotes and manage NTE (Not-to-Exceed) approvals with client oversight

Client Relationship Management

  • Build and nurture client and service partner relationships to support facility management objectives
  • Ensure exceptional client satisfaction with FM service delivery
  • Lead initiatives to monitor and increase client satisfaction levels
  • Work directly with clients and service partners to oversee maintenance and repair service delivery

Financial & Administrative Support

  • Assist with budgetary requests and strategic planning initiatives
  • Manage approval processes for NTE work in collaboration with clients

Process Improvement & Excellence

  • Continuously evaluate and improve processes, systems, and overall service delivery
  • Implement JLL best practices to exceed client goals and expectations
  • Ensure minimal disruption to client operations during maintenance activities
  • Maintain quality standards and timely service delivery across all client locations

Emergency Response

  • Participate in after-hours call rotation for emergency dispatching and follow-up
  • Coordinate emergency response activities and communications

Required Qualifications

  • 5+ years of facility management or operations experience
  • Strong project management and matrix leadership capabilities
  • Excellent communication and relationship management skills
  • Experience with CMMS systems and facility management software
  • Knowledge of building systems, maintenance practices, and vendor management
  • Ability to work flexible hours including emergency response rotation

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Facility Management, Engineering, Business Administration, or related field
  • Professional certifications (CFM, FMP, or similar)
  • Experience managing multiple sites or portfolio-level operations
  • Commercial real estate or corporate facility management background
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Proven track record of client satisfaction improvement
Salary: $125K- $150K

Estimated compensation for this position:

119,350.00 - 146,190.00 USD per year

This range is an estimate and actual compensation may differ. Final compensation packages are determined by various considerations including but not limited to candidate qualifications, location, market conditions, and internal considerations.
