Summary of the Job:

The Merchant Services Product Manager supports the development and delivery of solutions that help businesses accept payments in-store and online. This role assists with gathering product requirements, analyzing market trends, monitoring performance, and coordinating across business, technology, and operations teams to ensure secure, competitive, and user-friendly products.
This role also supports vendor management activities, reviews industry updates for impact, and contributes to tactical product operations. The ideal candidate will have a foundational understanding of payments, strong analytical skills, and a desire to grow expertise in balancing new product needs with compliance, maintenance, and lifecycle requirements.

About This Role:

Key Accountabilities

  • Support the delivery of competitive, secure, and user-friendly merchant services solutions that drive business growth
  • Assist with gathering and prioritizing product requirements from stakeholders
  • Collaborate with internal and external teams (engineering, design, marketing, compliance, legal, operations) to move initiatives forward
  • Contribute to analysis of market trends and the competitive landscape
  • Help track product performance metrics and provide updates to business leaders
  • Conduct research to better understand customer needs and support product decision-making
  • Assist in executing tactical work related to product operations
  • Identify and recommend opportunities to streamline or scale support duties across the organization
  • Pursue ongoing learning to build subject matter expertise in payments and merchant services
  • Provide support in managing vendor relationships and contract-related activities
  • Review vendor bulletins, summarize impacts, and support teams in developing response plans
  • Contribute to maintaining product roadmaps and tracking progress against milestones
  • Assist business leaders with pricing and go-to-market strategy discussions
  • Help ensure compliance with payment industry standards, financial regulations, and risk controls

The Ideal Candidate for This Role:

Key Skills:

  • Aptitude for understanding banking regulations and compliance functions
  • Deep familiarity with merchant services, payment processing, POS systems, payment gateways, payment networks, and related technologies
  • Use data to drive product improvements and strategic decisions
  • Time management and prioritization to meet deadlines and business goals
  • Ability to present product updates and influence decision-making
  • Creative thinking to identify new product opportunities and address merchant challenges
  • Ability to anticipate market changes and innovate accordingly
  • Collaborative and effective team player

The Ideal Candidate for This Role:

  • Bachelor's degree in business, finance, or related field
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities
    • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • 1-3 years of experience in merchant or financial services
  • Proactively seeking product improvements
  • Business Acumen
Candidates must possess unrestricted work authorization and not require future sponsorship.

Compensation:

Compensation range (base pay): $80,061.00-$132,099.00

This role may have a specific starting pay within this range.

Final compensation offer to candidate may vary from posted hiring range based upon work experience, education, and/or skill level.
