This position is contingent upon contract award. SOC, a Day & Zimmermann company, is currently identifying qualified candidates in anticipation of a forthcoming contract opportunity. Employment offers will be extended only if and when the contract is officially awarded to SOC.

Are you ready to drive the success of the Depot's mission by leading and energizing all strategic plans and operations across Fire Emergency Services, Guard Operations, and overall Security-ensuring mission readiness and top-tier support for our customers? Then this is the position for you!


As the Director of Support Services, here's the work you will do:

  • Serves as Director and lead staff officer for Fire Emergency Services, Guard Operations, and Security.
  • Oversees coordination across the directorate, SOC functions, and government partners.
  • Establishes goals for both the directorate and Hawthorne Army Depot; executes directives from the General Manager with sound judgment.
  • Manages all assigned resources to meet mission, functional, and contractual objectives.
  • Reviews work requests, estimates, budgets, and prepares reports for leadership.
  • Maintains internal audits to ensure contract and business compliance.
  • Leads alignment with Defense Industry Initiative goals and develops growth plans for staff and self.
  • Develops contract policies and procedures; ensures inspections are timely and documented.
  • Enforces safety standards, OSHA compliance, and promotes ethical conduct and company values.
  • Supports company investigations and fosters a respectful, inclusive work environment.



This role is for you if you have these skills:

  • Comprehensive knowledge of Security and Emergency Services operations. Skilled in reading, analyzing, and interpreting general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, and governmental regulations. Proficient in writing reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals, with the ability to clearly present information and respond effectively to questions from managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, combined with strong organizational and management abilities. Experienced in developing policies, procedures, and techniques. Well-versed in computer use, various software programs, and testing equipment.
  • Possesses working knowledge of contractual requirements related to security, guard operations, fire, and emergency services.

And if you have these qualifications:

  • Minimum of High School diploma or equivalent, plus a B.S. /B.A. in Engineering, Construction Management, Business Management or Business Administration or closely related field required. (Equivalent combination of closely related job experience and formal education may be considered).
  • Minimum 10 years combined experience managing and directing all phases of, fire department, guard services, and/or security operations.
  • Must posses or be able to obtain and maintain a valid State of Nevada drivers license unless physically unqualified to obtain such a license.
  • Must be able to security and maintain a level "Secret Clearance"



In compliance with this state's pay transparency laws, the salary range for this role is $118,000- $177,000. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location. (The specific programs and options available to an employee may vary depending on date of hire, schedule type, and the applicability of collective bargaining agreements).
