Title: Manufacturing Project Engineer
Location: Lake Jackson, TX

Salary: $130,000-$165,000
Schedule: 9/80 or 5-8s

Focus: The Manufacturing Project Engineer is responsible for leading Front-End Loading efforts by collaborating with Operations, Maintenance, Engineering, EH&S, Technology, Procurement, Finance, and leadership teams to scope, estimate, and prioritize projects. You'll ensure optimal technology integration by aligning inputs from Engineering, Plant Operations, Technology Center, Maintenance, and Reliability. Sharing accountability with the Project Manager, you'll help deliver a technically sound, safe, and fully operational facility - complete with trained personnel and disciplined operations. You'll guide project teams through option evaluations, feasibility studies, and execution phases, serving as the key liaison between Capital Projects and Operations/Technology providers.

Manufacturing Project Engineer Essential Responsibilities:

  • Partner with functional resources to identify, gather and analyze information and data relating to a proposed project scope. Ensures use of the Front-End Load process, "Subject Matter Expert Involvement Plan" during the project.
  • Assist process engineering with P&ID development, review, approval, and equipment/piping specifications.
  • Lead design reviews and sign-offs for equipment, layout, safety, and maintenance considerations.
  • Coordinate relief device scenarios, vessel registration, and process change management.
  • Assist with environmental tasks, audits (safety, hygiene, reactive chemicals), and F&EI/CEI calculations.
  • Contribute to project cost estimates, schedules, proposals, and Capital Authorization Requests (CARs).
  • Support construction planning and execution, ensuring safety, quality, and adherence to specs.
  • Oversee pre-startup activities, operator training, startup plans, and final plant commissioning (RTO) and responsible for assuring long term project operability.
  • Ensures documentation of operating discipline and trained personnel.

Manufacturing Project Engineer Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree* in Engineering; Chemical, Mechanical, or Civil discipline preferred.
  • 5 years of manufacturing experience in project engineering related roles. Knowledge and experience with project management methodology preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience with reviewing vendor proposals and quotations, contractor bids, and development of desired solutions required.
  • Demonstrated use of Process Engineering tools, order processing systems, project management software, spreadsheet, and Microsoft Office systems required; SAP experience preferred.
  • Willing and able to travel up to 30% of the time.
  • Prior Olin experience in a relevant position preferred.
  • Must be able to obtain a TWIC (Transportation Worker Identification Credential) and possess a valid US Driver's license.
