Title: Railcar Shop Supervisor
Location: Charleston, TN
Salary: $95,000 - $130,000

Focus: Reporting to the Logistics Manufacturing Leader, this position is responsible for daily management and supervision of the tank test, valve shop, and rubber shop work activities and employees. Collectively, these shops make-up Olin's largest railcar servicing facilities. The role will be responsible for implementing and creating sustainable work processes to keep the facility in regulatory compliance while also being financially competitive to other internal and external shop facilities.
Railcar Shop Supervisor Essential Responsibilities:
- Supervise railcar shopping facilities to efficiently plan adequate staffing, material supplies, address productivity challenges, and communicate expectations to direct reports and challenges to supervision.
- Maintain regulatory compliance with FRA and AAR regulations, such as 49CFR 179.2, as well as complying with Olin's Quality Assurance Program in accordance with 49CFR 179.7 by assisting to maintain site level procedures and their use, escalate non-conformances, support internal and external audits, and acting as an on-site expert for the associated regulations.
- Work with external railcar shops, customer sites, terminals and division's distribution personnel to coordinate the local site's response for railcar repairs and/or inspections. This can include repair and/or inspection of other Olin manufacturing facilities' rubber lined fixed assets.
- Perform other duties as directed by Logistics Manufacturing Leader.
Railcar Shop Supervisor Minimum Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- 5+ years' railcar shop experience in either a coordinator, engineer, or supervisory position.
- Experience within an AAR certified railcar facility.
- Must meet the physical requirements including, climbing stairs and ladders and be able to pass a fit test for full and half face respirators.
- Prior Olin experience in a relevant position preferred.
- Experience of performing rubber linings application, inspection, and/or repairs preferred.
- Must be able to obtain a TWIC (Transportation Worker Identification Credential) and possess a valid US Driver's license.
