OverviewWith the continued development of new breakthrough artificial intelligence (AI) models, the Azure Core team is growing to deliver the underlying platform that the next generation of AI models will run on top of! The Azure Core team is hiring engineers to join agile and diverse engineering teams in the Host Networking and Hardware Acceleration team.As a Software Engineer in the Host Networking and Hardware Acceleration team, you will contribute to the Azure host networking infrastructure by designing on and releasing agents into Azure carrying hardware and software components providing reliable and performant networking for the current and next generations of Azure hosts. You will also deliver Network Interface Card (NIC) servicing software for AI and other Azure workloads.An ideal candidate will have a passion for service-oriented architecture, distributed systems, low-level programming, operating system (OS) internals, virtualization, large-scale systems, performant design, hardware offloads, and test methodologies, and this opportunity will allow you to deepen your skills in these areas. Responsibilities* Works with appropriate stakeholders to determine user requirements for a feature.* Supports identification of dependencies, and the development of design documents for a product feature with oversight.* With guidance, learns to create and implement code for a product, service, or feature reusing code as applicable.* Assists and learns about breaking down work items into tasks and provides estimation.* Acts as a Designated Responsible Individual (DRI) in monitoring system/product feature/service for degradation, downtime, or interruptions for simple problems, and recommends actions to restore system/product/service by following the playbook.* Reviews current developments and proactively seeks new knowledge that will improve the availability, reliability, efficiency, observability, and performance of products while also driving consistency in monitoring and operations at scale. |
