Genesis10 is seeking a Sr. Mechanical Engineer for a 5-month contract position with a client located in Oshkosh, WI. This role is 100% onsite.
Compensation: $65.00 - 69.00 per hour, depending on skill and experience level.
Summary:
The Sr. Mechanical Engineer will design functional, reliable, and cost-effective heavy-duty vehicle components. This role involves performing engineering analysis, design or re-design, and the development of components for existing and new vehicles. The engineer will also support the integration and execution of vehicle and component design.
Responsibilities:
- Perform engineering calculations, investigations, and tasks according to industry standards and processes.
- Support senior engineers in preparing plans, designs, computation methods, and reports.
- Take ownership of projects or parts of projects with limited complexity; may manage multiple projects.
- Collaborate internally with cross-functional teams and externally with suppliers.
- Provide guidance or mentorship to entry-level engineers, designers, or technicians.
- Maintain effective communication with suppliers, customers, and outside resources on technical issues.
- Enforce proper use of engineering criteria and drawing standards in compliance with company policies.
- Evaluate designs for performance, safety, and reliability.
- Prepare layouts, drawings, specifications, and bills of material.
- Perform engineering analysis to support part, component, and material selection.
- Provide technical assistance for production support.
- Analyze and resolve issues reported to Engineering and communicate status.
- Prepare technical proposals, quotations, reports, and presentations.
- Create and maintain project documentation for analysis, research, and historical records.
- Use analytical and mathematical approaches to calculate or model system performance and optimize designs.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Regular attendance is required.
Qualifications:
- Accredited Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field.
- Three (3) or more years of related experience.
- Only candidates available and ready to work directly as Genesis10 employees will be considered for this position.
- Able to work as a W2 employee of Genesis10 (no corp to corp).
Preferred Qualifications:
- Proficiency with 3D CAD design tools and modeling.
- Prior exposure to military combat systems.
- Knowledge of video signal design and transmission systems.
- Experience applying root-cause problem-solving methodologies.
- Background in electro-mechanical system integration.
- Hands-on experience with product testing, test labs, or hardware-in-the-loop testing environments.
- Strong technical writing skills with experience creating engineering documentation.
- Familiarity with data acquisition tools and post-processing techniques.
